Mira straightened from her position. She hadn't realized she was holding her breath, and her lungs were starving for air.
Her eyes met Kevin's. "Call, a meeting in the briefing room in 10 minutes." She said softly. " I need to check on Kolar." I eyes teared up.
He nodded, wiping a tear from her cheek before she turned and left the bridge at a calm rate, but once the doors closed, she ran.
{Mess hall}
Walking in, Mira looked around. There had been a lot of people taking refuge in the room. "ma ma ma"
Mira swung him up in the air, then hugged him. There were tears in his eye. "I love you, little guy." she kissed his cheeks.
Mira smiled at Dianna and Zimia. "Awal got it. So don't worry. "
Dianna nodded. "But how did it get on the ship?"
"My guess is when Awal locked onto the crewman to bring him home, the Gorn got in the way and was beamed here instead. I am sure he is kicking himself, but the crewman it attacked is fine. Plus, he was able to get Walker. He is in sickbay as well."
Ensign Thorne jumped up from her chair at the mention of Walker, bolting for Sickbay.
Mira went to hand Kolar back to Zimia, but he shook his head no and held onto her. "Ma, ma. Da da." Mira raised an eyebrow at him. "Mama has to go back to work, or we are never going to get home." She told him as he shook his head no. "Fine, you can come with me. Clearly, your daddy is going to have to do the discipline because I can't. "
He laid his head on her shoulder. "ma ma."
{Briefing room}
Mira handed Kolar to Kevin as he called out for him. She smiled, seeing Kolar hug his dad. Then she turned to her people.
"All right Crew, we need to convince a Protector named Tibre to let us go. We have Gorn on the planet in our time and people we left there. I don't want to sit here for 3 years. Suggestions on how we get them to let us go?"
Kronnelti was just sitting there quietly until he spoke up.
He got up and walked to the viewport, commander Lance what is their most valuable or prized possession they care deeply about? He asked
Lance had been really quiet since the attack.
Mira smiled "I would think that water or theirs but I don't want to destroy that. They need it to live."
K'ner added, "We also can't fight the Gorn here. It would be in their best interest to get us back, both to take care of those, we have the evidence, plus that protects their equipment. When they eventually go back to the correct time period, but their equipment is destroyed, they can't slip back in time anymore?"
Mira nodded "since the air down there will make us sick. We need Tibre here to talk to. Its easier to say no to someone over communications then it is to their face."
[Sickbay]
Geneva skidded to a halt outside sickbay, her heart sinking into her stomach at the sight of Trace on a biobed. She knew enough from her Academy days to know that his vitals didn't look good. They were arrhythmic, and his oxygen levels were dangerously low.
She entered, her heart now in her throat. "How is he?" She asked the duty nurse.
"He came in with a lot of poison in his blood and some pretty deep lacerations. He's been administered an antidote but it will take time to work, especially considering his white blood cell count is very low...blood loss did that." She said.
"Who are you to him?" She asked.
Geneva forced a smile. "Just a friend."
"Well if you run into someone named Geneva, tell her he's been muttering her name for the last six hours." She said, rolling her eyes and moving off toward the small kiosk that served as an office.
Geneva smiled in spite of herself. "I will." She said.
