Kevin arrived at the viking settlement on the fjord of Hvalsey as the festival of Juel was in full swing. Many of the locals were deck in full viking regalia including shields, spears and swords. He assumed that the most of those not in viking garb were visitors, like himself, aside from a very few that had the wary look of local constabulary.

Following the parade of locals, he arrived in the town square where the locals were engaging in the jueleblot, giving offerings to the gods in an effort to curry their favor.

Kevin could see in the ceremonies the roots of Odinskus traditions but the Earth versions were much less colorful and much more staid than those of the Odinskus.


Mira was freezing standing by the fire as people made thier offerings. Mira pulled the furs tighter as she drank mead out of a horn.

Kronnelti was still on the Uss Chuck Norris getting his things ready while Spike was running around in excitement, even tho it's vacation time he still works regardless making sure that his superiors are with protection at all times unless told otherwise.

it takes a few minutes but kronnelti is ready, Spike is right beside him and kronnelti gives the go to energize to mira's location. Arriving in town spike jumps around in the snow then picks up the sent of Vay'toc and goes off running with Kronnelti in tow.

Kevin approached the top of the hill where wreaths were being rolled down the hill into the fjord below, his own wreath in hand. In his modern civilian attire, he stood out from the locals in their traditional outfits. He certainly stood out from the group, whom he presumed were local politicos, dressed in furs and armor. One had a patch over his eye and they were almost to a person all tall and imposing except for one short dark haired woman shivering in her furs.

Kevin was handed a torch to light his wreath before sending it rolling to a watery end. As was the tradition, he had inscribed a prayer to the gods on a strip of paper that was woven in amongst the twigs and straw that composed the wreath. It struck him as foolish, much like when the crew of the Dorcas James would tell him to “make a wish” before he blew out the candles on the cake baked to celebrate the day of his birth. Nevertheless, he had, in a moment of despair, written let me be worthy of love. As he lit the wreath on fire and rolled it down the hill, he idly wondered if the gods could read Federation Standard.


Mira laughed to see Spike come running up to them. She briefly wondered if she was going to get bowled over in his excitement to get to them. But he knocked into Vaytoc instead, "HI Spike."

It was then she looked up to see Kronnelti walking toward them. He seemed relaxed, so she smiled, hoping he wasn't bringing bad news and just wanted to join the fun.

Watching the participants, she saw a tall man rolling his fire wreath. He looked so familiar, but it couldn't be.

Mira had known something was up when her outfit was so over the top beautiful. She had been pulled into the ceremony as the one granting the blessing of the gods. She dropped her hood and raised her arms, one hand still holding the horn, and then she spoke the words she was told. First in Nordic, then in English. "May all your wishes and dreams come to. The blessing of the gods be on you."

Mira flipped up her hood and snuggled back in her furs. Thor patted her shoulder as if she had done well. The male she had seen turned as she spoke it was Lance. She waved and gave him a smile.

Zefram, Kevin thought when he recognized Mira, She was supposed to be in Hawaii. She had clearly seen him and now that he had locked eyes with her, he couldn’t avoid a parley. He returned her smile and advanced towards her with his arms open wide. As he approached, he couldn’t fail to notice the hulking locals narrowing their eyes in suspicion and close in towards her like bodyguards or protective siblings.

Kronnelti walked up to Mira not even recognizing her but he knew it was her as Vay'toc was beside her playing with Spike, Kronnelti was stunned to see her but he smiled and said I heard asshole is stalking you as he chuckled. He looked behind her shoulder and saw to believe to be her family he nodded in recognition.

Mira nodded, "Yea he spoiled my fun in the sun. I thought being alone was to much of a temptation so I joined friends here but now I am freezing!" She laughed

So what do you think of my new hand Kronnelti asked Mira?

"Very nice, I am glad they were able to replace it so quickly. " Mira told him

only took a few hours with the best dr near the federation dock.

Of course the Klingon would be here, Kevin thought as his smile slipped.

Kronnelti also saw Kevin but got the stink eye, Kronnelti didn't know why but he had to ask.

What's wrong Lance? Asked Kronnelti.

Without being too loud Kevin told the Klingon Security Chief that the admiral had seen the video of what happened and sarcastically thanked Kronnelti for his assistance.

Kronnelti responded I never sent the admiral anything as he promised but if he wanted to hit the Lt he's more than welcome.

Mira looked puzzle "What video?"

Kronnelti took Mira aside and explained that the guy who left had challenged Lance as he found Kevin to be a low life in his eyes, Kronnelti always carries a padd and showed Mira the video of Lance knocking out the person in a fair fight.

To be fair Mira if it was me I would have sent him out the escape pods without the pod he chuckled. I promised Lance I wouldn't show the admiral but he somehow got it anyway.

Mira nodded she had wanted Sheris out the air lock too but since he had failed in his attempt there wasn't much she could do.

Lance stood up for you as Kronnelti looked back and gave a nod of respect.

Kevin stood by mutely expecting to be berated by the executive officer for sticking his nose in her affairs, where it most definitely did not belong.

Mira walked up and hugged Lance "Thank you. I had plotted a few things to try to get Sheris but nothing seemed to work out after getting order by the Captain that I was to have no contact at all. " she pointed to Thor and made introductions. Uncle Thor this is Lt. Lance and Lt Kronnelti both of the USS Chuck Norris. This is Thor Thorngard he is the head of the Viking settlement here"

Thor smiled "ah friends of Mira are friends of ours come join us in the Settlement this party will be going on until the new year."

I'm not one for parting said Kronnelti I'd rather be training. He knew lance wasn't fond of the klingon being around so he asked around about hiking up the moutains
"in this weather? You will freeze. " Mira told him but Thor told her a hunting party was going out for more meat." Mira raised an eyebrow wondering if that was really what they were hunting for but she didn't say more.

Kevin was nonplussed at the hug from Mira which he had returned awkwardly. Of all the things that she could have done in response to seeing the recording of his duel with Sheris, a hug was the second least expected. At the invitation of Thorngard, Kevin recollected himself and responded formally, “I thank you and the All Father for your generosity to an outsider and pray to the gods that my actions shall bring forth great honor to all your family.”

Thor nodded approvally "A true viking good. How let's get some warm food in this little one before she drinks all the mead." Thor laughed. Mira had been looking around for the little one he was taking about feeding until she realized it was her. "Just for that I will drink all the mead. It is the only thing keeping my blood from freezing."

I will go on this hunting party Kronnelti said, carrying only a hunting knife it's a challenge for him as it is cold something he wasn't really ready for.

Spike stay here with Mira and Vay'toc I'll bring something back for you as well, his ears shot up with excitement.

Commander don't worry about me they know what their doing and I'll take care of myself. So Kronnelti and the hunting party went off till they were unable to be seen.

While everyone is having fun Kronnelti and the hunting party take several hours before coming back with caribou, seal and other variety of meat. Kronnelti is also seen wearing fresh bloody caribou pelt.

As they got within view Kronnelti whistled for both spike and Vay'toc. Both come running as the Lt cuts off a chunk of meat for both, Thor is happy to see the Klingon back and with a heafty haul of meat.
