Delegate or not the delegate

[ Shuttle Bay 1 ]

Kronnelti taps his comm badge =/\= affirmative commander =/\=

The Lt then starts basic protocols to aid the delegate until medical staff, including the commander, shows up.

Vay'toc, Spike watch the doors for any possible threats. Mira and the medical staff are on their way.

Both growl and take key positions.

He got K'ner's chirp in acknowledgement just as he saw a couple of her team coming through the door. They waved him aside as they set up their mobile kit...


[ Main Sickbay ]

K'ner stopped just inside the door, assessing... Maybe she was just paranoid and it seemed something was off because of that, or her gut was right and something was askew. She usually went with her gut and hadn't been wrong yet, so she leaned towards being cautious as she moved into the rooms, heading for the body that should be being prepared for handoff back to the Grazerites.

She wasn't comfortable already, not seeing or hearing anyone. Sickbay was seldom a hotbed of activity outside an emergency, but it was eerily quiet. She moved quietly onward, noting everything was secure, but there should have been at least one, if not two, techs on duty. Peeking around the open doorway into the room now currently the morgue, she thought there was a moment of motion out of the corner of her peripheral, but as she looked around the room, there didn't seem to be anything amiss, nor anyone there.

Proceeding to the delegates body she noted it was still a work in progress. The listing of preparations for Grazerites rites was still on the wall monitor, but the body looked like it was being unwrapped, and not the other way around. She erected an energy isolation field around it, secured for senior staff only, and gazed around the room again. She still felt something was off, she just couldn't pinpoint what it was.


[ Shuttle Bay 1 ]

Nod transitioned from handing something to Kotsoo, to keeping K'ner updated, back and forth. She had diverted to the sickbay en route so something was up.

Looking up at the XO, she nodded. "Stable. Does look like the delegate but it's his assistant. They tend to look similar over time, the longer they work together, and they dress the same, except for some slight jewelry accoutrement the delegate wears. Two wounds, both sharp implements. Critical wounds, but the Lt was in the right place at the right time."

She hands a couple of sanitizing wipes to Kronnelti so he could clean his hands...

Kronnelti takes the wipes, thank you. I was sure this was the delegate.

Kronnelti steps into the shuttle and looks around as something seems off. Still trying to figure out how someone snuggled a phaser on board.

He looks around, checking every bit of the shuttle, 15 minutes later, Kronnelti comes across a chip, something he's never seen before.

The Lt steps out chip in hand. =/\= Kronnelti to Capt I found something you may want to see, I'm heading to the ready room =/\=


Mira nodded. It wasn't the man who had been killed, which made more sense to her. "Find a reason to keep his clothes. See if any of that blood is from the clone. Their race is not known to be violent or even argumentative. So I doubt they had a fight, but evidence is needed. One way or the other. Someone shot the delegate and brought a weapon on board. I want to know who and why. When he is stable enough, I'll question him."

K'ner nodded.

"I think I might be overly tired." Mira confess. When K'nar' eyes meet hers, Mira gives a little shrug. "Over active imagation, paranoia or maybe vision problem." Mira wasn't sure what.

With a raised eyebrow, K'ner activated her medical tricorder towards Mira and then frowned. "I am only picking up high levels of stress."

Mira grinned at her, "That's what I get for bringing up a possible medical problem."

"Of course, I wouldn't let that slide, and as XO, you should bring it up." K'ner told her.

Mira nodded. "These delegates are getting to me. Instead of driving me up the wall, I thought I saw the wall move. Not the whole wall, just part of it. " Mira frowned

"Perhaps you should come in for a complete physical?" K'ner told her, but instead of the frown she expected to get, Mira just nodded. "I'll right. Can you fit me in later today?"

"Of course. Why don't you come back with us to medical now." K'ner told her.

Mira did frown now. " I was thinking of dropping by the science lab to make sure there weren't any unexplained phenomena or anomalies."

K'nar tried not to laugh. "Trying to convince yourself that you don't need a checkup."

Mira nodded. " I am so off my game right now it isn't funny. I am blaming Sheris if I have a mental breakdown. if it happens, please put on record that him answering the door in only a towel finished my mind off." Mira smirked.

"Come with me to Sickbay. We can't have a traumatized XO walking around, thinking she is seeing things." K'ner told her.

Mira laughed but gave a nod.

Kronnelti stepped up. "Next time he contacts you, let me know. I will explain why clothing is not optional."

Mira nodded, still laughing. "I might just do that. The look on his face would be priceless."

Commander, I think you should go take a break, get a nap in or relax, take Vay toc with you, he did well said Kronnelti.

Mira's eyes widen "Well that would be two command staff that think I need rest. I can't argue after that. Ok, K'ner, I am all yours. " she smirked.

{Medical Facility}

Mira laid back on the Biobed.

K'ner got called way for a moment, so Mira closed her eyes. She must have fallen asleep. The room was quiet, too quiet, Mira thought. What had awakened her? Without moving, Mira opened her eyes and looked around.

It had a predator feel to the room. Siting up abruptly, she looked around. What was that sound? it was like someone tapping on a forcefield?

Slipping from the Biobed, she walked towards the sound almost soundlessly. She thought 'almost soundless' because whatever was tapping stopped as she grew closer. It knew she was there.

Looking at the console, she frowned it looked like someone was trying to break a security code. Why had K'ner added a forcefield around a dead body. While thoughts raced in her mind, her hand lifted to tap her commbadge as she looked around. There was movement to her right she felt it more than saw it, and then pain exploded on the left side of her head, neck, and shoulder.

She fell to her knees, trying to keep from passing out. Her left arm was numb. It all felt like slow motion as she fell forward. Her right cheek felt the cold of the deck plate as she landed. Her left cheek felt like something warm was running down her face to her chin.Then nothing but darkness.

Kronnelti went to medical to check on Rodale when he spotted her on the ground, he checked her pulse it's high but slowing down.

Kronnelti then tapped his coms =/\= I need medical staff at medical asap commander Rodale is down =/\=

He then picks her up an lays her down on a bed inspecting her wounds and as he looks at it he gets a strange feeling in his gut that he's not alone.

Putting one hand on his phaser and reading it. qamoS 'ej choSuch ( I can sense you and I will take you down) says Kronnelti as he pulls his phaser and takes one shot and successfully hits the possible killer with a stun shot.

{Bridge}

The warning alarm on the security console that Lieutenant Tracey Walker was manned screamed to life. Quickly review the display, Trace punched the comm button. "Unauthorized weapons discharge! Security report to the Medical Bay!"

Kronnelti hailed the bridge =/\= yellow alert i repeat yellow alert =/\=

as he does that kronnelti holds the possible killer on the floor still stunned, it doesn't take long for security to arrive.

ensign Joe i need you to take this prisoner down, ensign Larry keep an eye on Commander Rodale until K'ner shows up let her know she was hit with phaser fire said the Lt I'm going to the bridge.
