Mission:
Death before dishonor
Location: MIRROR UNIVERSE
Timeline: Present
On:
{Mirror universe, Emperors quarters}
The large room was dimly lit. It proclaimed his wealth and he had lined the walls with weapons from all those he had conquered.
His cold blue eyes looked out at the planet below him dispassionately. Power had been all he wanted. All he needed. To rise to the position he was now. He had to shed a vast amount of blood. Destroy all who stood in his way and kill all who had known him.
His mother, father, sisters even his wife and children. He spared no one. He never regretted the decree. It was there way destroy all ties to your old life then claim the throne. He was emperor. Countless worlds and races had fallen at his command.
A rebellion had started. The alien scum were fighting back. They would be crushed. There was also a mirror universe he would rule over as well. Nothing had distracted him except one little slip of an alien.
Now he wanted the Angel of Death. She wasn’t even human. If it wasn’t for those Exotic spots she could easily pass for one of his kind. She was also as deadly as himself. His lips twitched but he pushed the amusement down. She was deadly and unpredictable.
The door opened behind and in walked Captain Michael Intermeezo slowly he turned back to the man. He had dropped to one knee. Waiting. Waiting for me to Acknowledge his presence I waited briefly then spoke “your report?”
He looked up. “It is as you said my lord. The Klingons and Orions have made their way to the mirror universe they have Situated themselves in primary positions.”
The emperor nodded. The Claw and the Hammer thought they could hide in and take over the universe I planned to rule, he thought. They would die.
Intermezzo swallowed hard. “The woman I told you about. Commander Mira Rodale. Is now Captain of the same ship I brought over to Acquire the aliens cloaking device. She has been found again.”
He watched the man. He wasn’t fully human being half El-Aurian. Yet he so far had followed his orders. The last report he had on her, she had been listed missing in action. He raised a eyebrow. Perhaps he could yet indulge one of his fantasy. This Mira was the woman born in the mirror universe and went my Mira Rodale not Angel Lox as her counter part did. She was far less deadly then Death was. His fingers stroked his beard in thought then he took the report. It started with the most recent information. “She has a challenge to answer?”
“Yes my lord.”
That brought a frown to the Emperors face. “If he should win, kill him and his whole blood line.“ The emperor took a seat to read.
“And if she should win?”
Cold eyes looked up at him. “If she doesn’t kill him see that he dies anyway. She had better not die in this challenge.”
Intermezzo nodded “It will be done.“
The emperor waved him away as he continued to read.
{Prime Universe, Federation Council Enclave}
“Are we certain that it is him?” the elderly Vulcan asked.
“We are never certain of anything in the Mirror Universe,” the human replied, “but there are enough markers to strongly suggest so.”
“What is the level of confidence?”
“We haven’t been able to get enough DNA for a positive confirmation,” the human continued, “but we have enough passive evidence to calculate a 73% confidence probability.”
The Vulcan's eyelids fluttered slightly, the greatest indication of his displeasure. The comparatively low probability urged caution and the need to gather more evidence. “His profile doesn’t suggest that he is capable of the cold-blooded violence demonstrated by the Emperor.”
“He did assassinate an member of the Tal’Shira,” the human pointed out, “and there is circumstantial evidence he was the perpetrator of an incident in the Gamma Quadrant several years ago,” The human paused a moment, then continued, “Who knows what truly lies in the hearts of men?”
“HU-man,” the Vulcan said rather pointedly. The human merely nodded in acknowledgement.
‘Events are rapidly escalating,” the Vulcan remarked, “and we may not have the time to gather more information. Captain Rodale intends to transit to the Mirror Universe?”
“According to our contact on Starbase 364, yes,” the human answered, “after the completion of her duel.”
“What is the expected outcome?”
The human shrugged, “All of the simulations suggest that it is a toss-up. Commander Lance has slightly better odds.”
“Are plans afoot to ensure their victory?”
“We expect Captain Rodale will do everything in her power to give her an advantage. Our Klingon agents are doing what they can to hamper her opponent but it is difficult to get close to the two Klingjil brothers.” Again, the human paused, “We should prepare contingencies in the case that one or both are defeated.”
“The matter is already in hand,” the Vulcan answered.
The human nodded and turned away the safety of the universe would depend on a small ship and even smaller female. At least the ship had an highly trained crew.
