First impressions

Mission: Vacation on Amri V
Location: USS Chuck Norris
Timeline: Present

{USS Chuck Norris, Bridge}

Mira watched as Amir V came into view. "it's beautiful." She nodded to Chin. "Open up transmission."

She smiled as an older man greeted her on the view screen. "I hope my Federation standard is up to your standards. Since our first meeting with one of your ships, we have been working on it."

"It's perfect," Mira told him with a smiled. "We have come to enjoy your world with you "

"My name is Radjak." He touch his forehead with his finger. "We invite you to join the joys of our world."

Mira touched her forehead "My name is Mira Rodale I am captain of the USS Chuck Norris. Thank you for your invite."

There was a change in the space around the planet. It looked like they had opened up a hole for them to enter. Mira nodded to the helmsman then turned to Kevin. "This is going to be fun!"

"Our bags are packed and stowed aboard shuttle delta-01," Kevin replied, "I have gone over the duty shift schedule with Montgomery and Glin'goss. Just need to get Kolar from Zimia."

Mira turned to Montgomery "Ok start releasing the kids."

"Aye Captain they will be happy to go." Montgomery told her with a smirk.

{Shuttle bay, USS Chuck Norris}

Mira sat Kolar down in a seat and buckled him in. "Ok, now stay put. We are going for a ride, then you can play." Mira had showed him a few moments ago that his toy ship looked like what they were getting in. He seemed excited but Mira wasn't sure how much her son understood. She handed him his bear as she kissed his cheek.

"Vaytoc, let me know if he gets loose." Vaytoc snickered as he laid down next to Kolar’s chair and Mira joined Kevin.

"Our cabin is at these coordinates." she showed him the PADD then took a seat next to him. " Before we head down, I want to show Kolar the Norris from the out side."

Kevin gave her a grin but nodded. The shuttle dropped down out of the Norris and Kolar giggled. Then he swung the Shuttle around for a view of the ship. "perfect" Mira told him then went to get Kolar.

"See, that's our ship we live in." Mira told him as she moved to the front view port.

"dada fly?" Kolar asked. He had two toys in his hand one of the shuttle and one of the Norris. He looked at his toys then out the viewport "dada fly me bye-bye?"

Mira nodded. "We are going to have fun down there." she pointed to the planet.

Kolar giggled. "tankoo, dada"

"Anything for you, cub," Kevin replied happily as he maneuvered the shuttle for entry into the planet's atmosphere.

{Amri V}

The shuttle set down in a open meadow not far from the cabin in the woods that had been assigned to them. Kevin programmed the autopilot for the return trip to the Chuck Norris. He would have preferred keeping the shuttle close by for any emergency but the shuttle was needed to ferry others to and from Amri V.

He helped Mira unload their bag from the rear of the shuttle while Kolar ran around "flying" his toy shuttle under the watchful eye of Vaytoc. Because there were no replicators, the happy couple had to replicate everything that they would need for the week's stay prior to departing the Norris.

Kevin marveled at the apparent visual evidence that Kolar had more baggage then either of his parents and possibly more than both. Kevin wondered if Auntie Zimia was the explanation as he hefted several bags. Unfortunately, it would require a second trip.

Unable to contain his curiosity, he asked, "Did we really need to bring all this stuff?"

Mira raised an eyebrow then patted her small backpack. "This is my clothing. This bag has some cooking tools I think I will need to cook. The blue backpack is Kolar's clothing, diapers and blocks. I didn't pack the other bags I thought they were all yours." Mira frowned. "I didn't pack many toys for Kolar because…" she waved her hand at the great outdoors "How can he get bored with this? We will be swimming, hiking and anything else we could want to do." Her attention got pulled away as Kolar laughed.

"Mama I swim?" He asked her.

"Not right now. Let us get all this into the cabin." Vaytoc herded Kolar towards the round front door. "This is beautiful. It reminds of…" She frowned trying to think of the name , "A Hobbit home?"

"A what?" Kevin asked.

"I think they were called that." Cabin looked like it was attached to the hill. Ok, now she was worried the place wasn't going to be big enough for Kevin. "I know I said this before, but if your not happy with this we can change to something else." She told Kevin with a smile. Then she opened the door "Oh wow!" The place was huge inside.

Kolar crawled on to the huge bed that was in the main room and started jumping up and down. it was over 6x6 with an amazing amount of pillows.

"My bed!" He giggled.

"Mama's and dada bed." she walked in, then pointed to the twin size bed. "That one over there is your bed."

He gave her a pout. Mira just grinned then she opened the next door. "By all that is holy. Will you look at this?" The door led to a huge cavern that looked like it had a hot tub and shower.

"The living room is quite posh as well," Kevin reported as he entered the bathing cavern, "Large fireplace, comfy couches, and some kind of floor covering that looks like a furry animal hide."

"I also checked the kitchen. No Icoberries but are there any other allergies that I should know about?"

Mira grinned. "Well there are some red berries on hell that got me sick and I would never eat the meat from this small lizard that lives on that planet. Both I don't think will show up off that world. " She kissed his cheek. "Now, if I didn't pack these bags and you didn't, my guess would be Zimia. " Mira had a little frown on her face as she unzipped the first bag. " Well," she pulled out a top. They are my size, but I don't remember picking any of these out. There are clothing for you and Kolar."

Mira shrugged "the amount that are here wouldn't fit in our storage on the Norris."

Kolar was trying to get his shirt off as he ran past her in his diaper. "Hey what are you doing?" Mira asked him.

"baff" he told turning around in a circle still trying to get his top off.

Mira pulled it down to unbutton it before shd took it off. She gave a little roll of her eyes "He loves the water."

"He is on vacation," Kevin mused, "and getting clean is never a bad idea. Why don't you help him with that and I will see to some lunch. And maybe we can take a hike around the lake afterwards."
"sounds like a good plan." Mira changed " Ok little guy mama will changed and you can get a bath."

{Cleaning Cave}

Mira changed into shorts and a tank top then took Kolar's little hand an he started to walk to the water "baff?"

"bath" Mira corrected him only to have him yell "my BAFF" happily.

There were steps that led down into the water. One side was perfect for Kolar while the other side was over Mira's head. As they moved into the water the lights turned on giving the pool a beautiful glow. "be careful Kolar."

He nodded his head but continued to pat the water.

Turning to Vaytoc Mira asked " Are there any animals in here?"

He was settled on a rock and shook his head no. Well, that was a relief. Kolar started to float on his back with a huge smile on his face. Floating was as far as she had gotten to teach him. Mira took a seat on the edge of the pool just watching him play. "Don't go out too far it gets deep."
