Low tech phaser

While Mira and Kevin were eating Kronnelti stayed in the science tent working on something, he didn't tell Mira nor Kevin but he kept working until he was done.

With all the tools and gadgets they had here he was able to come up with a low tech phaser that's stun only but with a twist. It can only be used by the users bio signatures so the one he made can only be used by the chief of security.

The one thing that Kronnelti enjoyed was inventing and tinkering it kept him calm.

He walks out the captain and commander just came back from K'ner. Mira, Kevin it took me several hours but he hands over the phaser.

It uses the bio signatures of the user so if taken nobody can use it.

Please give it a try as he hands it to Mira.

Mira aimed it at something outside but nothing happened. Seeing the grin on Kronnelti’s face she frowned "It's only set for you?"

He takes it back and hands her another one, press your thumb here and now try again.

She takes the second one aims at the same target and it fires for her.

I'll say the stun given from this will hurt like hell but the receiver will be knocked out for 30 minutes he said.

There is plenty of material left to make a few more that way those going has one.

After all that he's done his stomach started growling. And with that I'm going to eat.

Anything else I'll be right there. Oh one last thing before he goes, he hands Mira a mace with prongs throughout the top, this one is fun I've tested it out on myself and boy does it kick like a mule.

Mira shook her head at Kronnelti's invention. The looked up at Kevin. "Well what did you think?"

"Don't swing too hard or the spikes will dig in deep and your have the Void's own time pulling it out," Kevin mentioned casually. He turned to Kronnelti, "What did you use for a power source for your phaser?"

I reconstructed the all pass unit that works in our phasers on the ship he said. It took a while to figure it out but by utilizing a deconstructed battery in which I reconstructed it to be smaller to fit in the handle.

I'm no scientist nor engineer but tinkering is my thing he said.

He hands Kevin a phaser that's still being worked on that's still open to show the internals.

"Are these the power source?" Kevin asked, pointing to three glowing crystals.

Kronnelti nodded.

"They are local," Trace intervened, "The technical reports say the the crystals are a natural battery that can be used to absorb, store and emit energy."

Kevin nodded. He had missed that fact but he had spent much more time reading the sociopolitical reports than the technical ones.

I'm going to finish these out then I'll have everyone scan their bio signatures to each one he said then went back to work.
"Excellent work Kronnelti."Mira told him.
