Yay! This will be fun.

[SB 364]
Trace palmed the entry on the door to his new quarters and just about dropped his bag in shock when he saw how big they were. There was a huge room with a kitchen area and living room, and a separate bedroom, sonic shower, the works. A large plastisteel window looked out into the vast expanse of space, and Trace stared at the black for a moment. “Not bad.” He muttered to himself, thinking about the narrow bed and wash basin he had on the Norris.
He stowed his personal belongings, dressed in civvies, and headed out to explore the Starbase. As he was exiting his room, he ran into Geneva Thorne, the Norris’s Assistant CSO.
When she saw him, the corner of her mouth turned up in that way she had, which indicated that she had something humorous on her mind.
“Lieutenant,” she said, as the two of them walked down the corridor.
“Ensign,” he replied. A moment passed where they said nothing, then Trace spoke just as she was speaking. “I wanted to…”
“So what are you…” She smiled. “Sorry, go ahead.”
“No, you first,” he said, turning toward her with a playful expression on his face.
“So what are you up to?” She asked.
“I was going to explore the Starbase. Since this is our new home, I figured I better get the lay of the land.” He said.
“Me too, she said, want to stick together?” She asked.
“Probably a good idea if we do.” He said, “With all the Klingons about, who knows what could happen. Listen, I wanted to thank you for your support on that last mission. I’ve never been left in command like that before, and well, it was kinda new ground for me.”
She nodded solemnly. “You did good.”
“Thanks,” he said, and the two of them continued down the corridor to the turbolift.
“Looks like we’re neighbors.” He said, entering the lift.
“How about that.” She replied, her mouth turning up into that smirk again, as the doors closed.
