"Captain, I am detecting unusual localized variations in gravity around the ship," the duty science officer called from his post.

"Explain," the Captain queried from his command chair

"The disturbances are extremely weak, almost like dark matter or a micro-singularity," the science officer replied, "but I've never heard of so many in so small an area."

"Do they pose a threat to the ship?"

"Unknown, Captain," the science officer responded.

"Raise shields," the Captain ordered.

The duty tactical officer complied.

"Mister Rodriguez," the Captain turned to the communications officer, "Make contact with Commander Rodale."

"Captain there is something odd with the environmental controls," the duty operations officer interrupted.

Captain Intermezzo felt a stiff breeze against his face that was almost immediately gone. Never, in all his years abroad starships had he felt such a thing. "What do you mean by odd?"

"There have been slight drops in atmospheric pressure throughout the ship," she replied, "but they almost immediately stabilized back to normal."

"What is causing the drops?" the Captain asked, "Is it related to the gravitic anomalies?"

But before he could hear an answer, Captain Michael Intermeezo disappeared from the bridge of the USS Chuck Norris.
