“She’s a tough little craft. Veteran of the Dominion war,” the shuttlecraft rental salesman pitched, “Converted from an assault troop carrier to a pleasure craft with plenty of room for a family of six.”

Kevin wasn’t familiar with the Imp-class Assault Shuttle but the control set-up would be reasonably similar to what he had trained on. He didn’t need the extra room but the craft’s long range amenities would be useful in his exploration into the Gamma Quadrant. “I’ll take it for a week,” he said.

The salesman smiled broadly as he handed the PADD over for Kevin to sign and transfer credits. It was expensive but as with leave time, he had built up more than enough credits during his duty on the diplomatic mission to Alpha Pyxis Five to cover the cost several time over.

The transaction complete, Kevin pick up his space bag with his clothing and personal effects for the trip to the Gamma Quadrant. He departed the rental kiosk on to the promenade it time to catch a glimpse of Mira and another female trill in science blue walking away, arm in arm. He resisted the urge to call out to Mira as it seemed the two were deeply involved in some sort of scheme.

Instead, he turn toward the elevator that would take him to the docking ring and his rented craft.
