Short one to get back into things. Now that I’m getting RSS feed alerts on new posts, I should be more consistent.

On:

[Sickbay]

Trace sat up in his biobed and scanned the PADD containing all the information about what had happened while he’d been recovering. Apparently, he had picked up a rather nasty bug during the shenanigans with Q, probably from getting mauled by a Klingon predator, that had taken him out of commission for most of the last mission.

Rumor was more informative than the Padd, however, and he learned about some romance brewing between Lance and Rodale, Kronnelti somehow losing a hand, and some drama with diplomats. All said and done, he was kind of relieved he’d missed it.

A nurse came in and took a look at his vitals, then handed him a fresh uniform. “Looks like you’re fully recovered, Lieutenant. You’re cleared for duty.”

Trace took the clothes and nodded his thanks, then shamelessly stood up, fully naked, and began dressing before the Nurse even left the area. She blushed furiously but Trace didn’t notice.

[Spacedock]

Walker entered the Spacedock with a duffle over his shoulder, an amused look on his face at all the Christmas decorations. He wasn’t very religious…after all, how could you be when you made the religious beliefs of others your area of expertise? He didn’t have any family to speak of, so he had made arrangements to spend time with the Engineering team aboard the station, in order to refamiliarize himself with spacedock systems.

Before his career in Starfleet, he’d spent many years aboard the vessels as an Anthropological attaché, and was therefore quite familiar with regulation and ship board operations. During that time, he’d found himself in quite a few tight spots, requiring a smattering of different kinds of specialized knowledge.

While he hadn’t graduated from the Academy as an Engineer, he’d minored in it and didn’t think it would require too much supplemental knowledge to pass the required tests to become an Engineering officer. He’d spend his holiday brushing up with the Engineering team and then taking the examination. If he passed, he might apply for that job on the ship.

Shouldering his pack, he headed toward the bowels of the Spacedock, whistling a Christmas tune under his breath.

Off:

USS Chuck Norris
