Mission: The Q Effect

Mira had made her way back to her quarters and changed into her uniform. The camping supplies were stored in cargo bay one.

A young ensign came up to her smiling, handing her a PADD. "All completed ma'am"

Raising a delicate eyebrow, Mira took the PADD, wondering what he was all happy about completing. As she read, it became clear the revamp of the gym. All the newest equipment was now installed. "Thank you, ensign. " she told him sincerely. The four treadmills and other equipment K'nar had suggested were going to be used a lot.

Just then, her comm badge went off.

Tapping her comm badge, she answered, "On my way."

{Transporter Room one}

Since she was right around the corner, it only took a few moments to get there, but what she saw made her want to turn around and leave but she didn't.

"Is there a problem, Ensign?" Mira asked, but she kept her eyes on the other man in the room. Trouble would not be coming from the ensign but from him.

"Ma'am he said he needed to speak with you and..."

Mira nodded. "I understand. Thank you. I'll handle this from here." She gave her very practiced formal diplomat smile, but anyone who really knew her would know it was fake.

"Ambassador Tebas Irain? Did you come to see the Captain?"

He grinned. "I came to see you. I was worried. You left so fast from dinner and with having a headache I thought I could help."

"I had no idea you were a medical doctor, Ambassador Irain." Mira said sweetly.

He chuckled,"I am not. May we talk privately someplace?"

Mira gave a gentle laugh, " There isn't any place private on this ship, Ambassador."

"Please call me Tebas, and perhaps your quarters then will do?"

Surprised by the request, she shook her head no." That's not going to happen, Ambassador. If you would like to talk, it can be in the mess hall or in Captain Intermeezo readyroom with him present."

He still had that amused look on his face. Her aunt always told her that when a man had that look, he was pulling the wool over your eyes.

"Are those my only choices? If you have not eaten yet, I could take you out to dinner or perhaps my quarters." Tebas added more suggestivly.

Mira's expression never changed. "We could have this conversation in the Security Chief office. I am sure he would want to know why you have come to the ship as much as I do."

Tebas chuckled. "I see. You don't flatter or tempt easily, do you? "

Mira raised her chin slightly. "I responded to flattering when it is genuine. Now, if my reasonable terms are not acceptable, I'll get the captain for you."

Tebas laughed. "The mess hall will have to do then, Mira."

"Lt.Commander Mira Rodale," She corrected him, then waved a hand out of the room. "If you will follow me to the Mess hall ambassador Irain,"
Mira almost smiled when she made him frown.

"I believe I told you to call me Tebas"

Mira nodded but she kept on walking

{Mess hall}

"May I get to a Tea or Coffee Sir?" She asked sweetly before walking over to the replicator.

He nodded "Whatever you're having will be fine."

Mira wanted to chuckle, bad choice she thought to herself. She picked her favorite Raktajino.

Placing the cup in front of him she took the next seat. Sipping her drink she just watched him over the mug. As he sipped his drink and choked her eye lit up in mischief.

He frowned taking her drink out of her hand and giving her his. She said nothing but picked up the cup and took another sip.

He took another sip and choked "by the Fire what is this?"

"Raktajino" Mira smirked "You said to give you what I was having."

He pushed the cup away frowning "Your Aunt did say you were a bit of a trouble maker."

Raising a delicate eyebrow she asked "You know my aunt? what one?"

"Sheana" he told her with a smirk

Mira laughed "ah yes, I should have known you met her considering you are both Betazoid” Mira put her cup down on the table. "Knowing her, I did everything she said I did because she caught me doing them."

Tebas threw his head back and laughed. "You are not going to even try to ......" before he could finish the statment. Mira said "no."

"Good my people value honesty". He told her as he slid a PADD to her. Picking it up her eyes widened "How did you get these?"
one was a photo of her in leathers she had made while on planet hell and the other was a photo of her on a Romulan world in Romulan clothing. There was no way he should have either photo.

He pointed to her in leather and skins " That one your aunt and uncle got two years ago. They tried to work out a deal to get you back but they couldn't make the deal with the man. From the things I have found out now, I believe it was Von."

Mira shook her head. How could he hate her so much to leave her on that world knowing she was there. "And the second one?"

His smile was tight. "The Romulan empire."

What had Q gotten her into by dropping her off on that planet? Just as she was about to open her mouth to tell the Ambassador the truth. She was no longer sitting on the chair but was now on Q's lap.

Q smirked at Ambassador Irain. "I will show you how she got there." with a snap of his fingers the room lit up and the Ambassador was gone.

"By all that is holy, Q what have you done to him?" her breath caught in her throat.

"Take it easy, love. Aren't you going to ask about how Kolar likes his new home or when we are going to have our own little ones?"

"There is no we Q and why are you following my son? or should I say, my cousin's son?" Mira told him concern rising by the second.

"You didn't think I was going to let my nephew go off without checking out his family. You did a good job by the way. He will have a good life as will our daughter. "

"We don't have a daughter Q and WE are not having a daughter because there is no we." she tried to get up again but couldn't.

Q sighs dramatically. "Oh our blue eyed spotted daughter is not going to like that talk."
Mira narrowed her eyes "We never had a baby Q"

he smirked "Good now we are back to being We."

Mira groaned trying to get up again.

Giving her a kiss he snapped his fingers. Q disappeared while Ambassador Irain reappeared. Mira was left looking at a very confused Ambassador. "Welcome back?" she said sweetly

"Does he do that a lot?" Ambassador Irain.

Mira nodded slowly.
Ambassador Irain slowly got to his feet " I guess that explains why they have a photo of you. ..... I will take care of it."

Mira smiled "Or Q might?" she gave a little shrug standing up to walk him out.
