Walking quickly, Mira almost didn't hear a woman calling her name. If it had been a male, she might have walked faster. Stopping, she turned towards the sound.

Lt Kylie Jaggers was running towards her "What happened, girl?" Jaggers asked her with a worried look on her face.

Mira tried to smile, but it came across as looking fake. "Now, what makes you think something is wrong?"

Jaggers had taken hold of both her arms and smiled. "Any woman dressed like this would have a guy on her arm and not speed walking. Girl, for having short legs, you can move it fast."

Mira smirked. "My legs are not short. it's all of me, that is. We all can’t be 5’9”"

Jaggers laughed. "Now tell me what happened."

Mira frowned. "Maltan heard that 3 of the ambassadors wanted to talk to me. He didn't want me to go alone, so he set up a dinner." she sighed. “For some reason, the Trill Ambassador just made it out that everything I did was wrong. I told him off. then I left."

Jaggers nodded, and then she folded Mira's hand over her arm as she started walking the way Mira had been going before she stopped her. "You think it's Von's doing?"

Nodding Mira agreed. "Tonul didn't even know of all of Von crimes or that he was my brother."

"And I bet you didn't even tell them about the baby you lost because of Von." Jaggers said, making Mira stop walking.

"They don't deserve to know that. By all that is holy Jaggers, I haven't even told Maltan. That is personal. Besides if I told him he would want to hug me, and then I'll cry. "

Jaggers laughed "oh we can't have that, my friend. "

Mira rolled her eyes but started walking.

"My brother is single and coming to the base next month. You should meet him." Jaggers told her.

Mira looked horrified. "Don't you dare try to set me up with your brother. I learned that dating Risans doesn't work out for me."

"What! Any Risian male would jump at a chance to take you home." Jaggers told her I little indignantly.

"Oh believe me, I know, but you turn your back on them for a minute, and they see another woman carrying a horga'hn. They will jump at the chance to take her home, too."

Jaggers laughed. "All that we have is yours. Just pick another."

Mira never understood that way of thinking, "I would rather be alone than deal with that."

They had reached the transporter room, so nothing more was said on that subject. "See ya soon," Jaggers kisses her cheek. "Live a little. life is too short not to."

Mira nodded but turned to the transporter crewmen. "One to beam to the USS Chuck Norris."

The crewmen had a wide smile on his face, taking in Mira in her silky little dress. "Oh gees, I forgot to change ensign." Mira blushed.

He chuckled. "It's perfectly alright by me, Lt.Commander. You look lovely."

"Thank you ensign." Mira told him. Then she walked to the captain's readyroom.

Keying entry, she waited to hear enter. "Good evening, Sir. I just wanted to let you know I am back early. If you wanted some time on the base. " with a smile she turned and left slipping her heels off as she walked to the mess hall.

Dropping her heels by an empty table, Mira got a hot tea and ham sandwich.
