They had been playing on the floor when Mira glanced at the view port. The USS Aries was towing in a cargo vessel that looked severely damaged. The USS Aries wasn't looking all that great either. She stood quickly up and walked to the viewport, then picked up her PADD. To see what had been reported.

Finding the information she started to read. Only one crewman had survived on the cargo ship but died later due to the gorn eggs he was carrying. The eggs are unable to be detected by Starfleet Medical personnel and other electromagnetic medical sensors until it is too late to save the man. The Ship's doctor stated that it appears two different reproduction methods are used by the Gorn. 1 was by the Gorn mating, and then the 2nd laying parasitic eggs in a host's body through spraying venom at the body. Later, the eggs hatch by bursting out of the hosts.

Mira shivered, then looked to Kevin. "Please make sure anyone that had contact with the Gorn has a full medical check up. It's been over two days, but.... . Hopefully, that one on the ship was too young to spit venom. " She handed the PADD to Kevin. "It looks like the Gorn Hegemony is expanding its territory."

She frowned, watching the ship dock.

A little voice called to her. "mama....baba" he held his hand to show he was hungry.

Turning her attention fully on him, she smiled "Ok Little guy," she picked him up and moved to the replicator. "Bottle, time it is." That also meant bedtime, too, not that her little guy had figured out that yet. She sat on the rocker and held him close. Forcing Her mind, to push all thoughts of the Gorn out so she could concentrate on Kolar.
"I don't think I feel comfortable just leaving him on the base with the Gorn attacking. On the ship. Granted, it's not the best place to raise a child. At least he would have both of us watch over him." Her eyes meet his wondering what he thought of the idea

All Mira's best laid plans seemed to not be working lately when it came to Kolar. She wanted him to have everything she never got out of life.
