Mira must have fallen asleep. Kronnelti was a sleep or still pretended to be asleep. Mira wasn't sure. She wasn't even sure if he remembered her.
The door slowly opened, and an old woman came in. "Good afternoon, child. How are you feeling?" She eyed Kronnelti suspiciously.
Mira thought about not talking, but that would just be rude. The woman seemed like she was trying to be nice. Mira should be nice, at least for now.
"I feel better, but I want to leave. I have a son I need to get back to, a man that I miss, and a ship that I should be on, not here." Mira told the woman.
"Dear, your child and man hadn't even been born yet, and your ship doesn't exist. You're free to live your life now."
Mira's eyebrows shot up. the woman was insane if she thought she would just be happy knowing they hadn't been born yet. "Look, since we were sent here, why can't you just send us back?"
The woman smiled, "There are preset times we jump. the next one is in 50 years. It's all so the Gorn don't set up a hatchery on the planet."
"There are more people on my ship!" Mira told her.
"They will all be sent here, and you will all be safe, too. Now, here is you meal." the old woman told her.
Mira shook her head no. “There must be someone in your government I can talk and negotiate our release.”
“As soon as we are sure you two will not hurt yourselves or others you will be free to live among us, again.” The woman said as she put the food down and backed away.
Mira cursed as the door closed. 50 years just wasn’t going to work for her. Kolar would be 50 and …..Well she couldn’t expect Kevin to wait that long for her. She placed her hand over her symbiont. OK She would have to play their game get out and find the stupid equipment to send them home. That cave had equipment in it she might be able to rig a transmitter.
