The hunt for the worm

Mira looked at Awal. "You punched the doctor?" she grinned. "Where was I?" She asked as they got together with a few others for the worm hunt.

You were on death's door Mira, when i took you from him you passed out so i had to take you from the dr then put you down in Delta-1 in order to shut the dr up because he wanted to keep you on the Avenger he said.

Mira's eyes widen. "All that happened while I was out. Wow." she was surprised. "Well, thank you. There was no telling what that crazy doctor would have done next. Why do I aways miss the fun stuff?"

After asking the leather master to make her a sheath for the blade, Kronnelti had given her. Mira put anything she could lose in her backpack. After a moments hesitation, she took off her mek'leth back harness. She wanted that kept clean.

From the leather she had given Dak, he had made her pants, a vest. and two bags. That she left in her was shorts, tank top, and running shoes. Mira looked over to the weapons room and pulled out a mek'leth. Yep, she was, really.

 Walking out of the ship, she shugged. "Those worms are this way." she pointed to the right. This was going to get so messy, Mira thought.

So how long are these worms anyway Kronnelti asked?

Mira shrugged "The smaller ones are 6'. I have seen much bigger. I normally just stay away from them. Let's go play in the stinky mud." She said with a laugh.

Without Mira knowing Kronnelti picked up a little bit of mud and smeared it all over her back then laughed.

"Ha ha" Mira told him as she walked away. "Remember you wanted to play with the worms. "

It did not take long to get there, and Mira thought it smelled worse than before. She made a face before Krum pulled her in, and then he told her, "It's best to just get it over with."

Waist deep Mira watched the water. There were normally bubbles before one popped up. "It's coming," Mira yelled before 2 raised their heads.

With a big smile Kronnelti gave a big klingon rawr. The worm now focused on the klingon raises up higher out of the water. He remembered Mira said they can get bigger than 6'....this one rose about 15' out of the water then slammed it's open mouth on top of him.

Mira screamed in horror seeing her brother get swallowed whole.

She looked over at Krum in horror.

"Oh by all that is holy Krum do something!" Mira yelled

The belly of the beast:

After being swallowed Kronnelti eventually ends up in its belly " if worms had bellies " it immediately started to digest him SLOWLY. Panicking Kronnelti tries to fight his way out with his fists, he can hear Mira yell to Krum but it's muffled.

He then tries to climb up the stomach but it's too slippery and the smell is rancid it burns your nostrils. Kronnelti had to figure out how to stop his nose from bleeding every time he tries to breathe.

The fight outside this worm is intense.. it's body is very thick that their blades don't do enough damage. Kronnelti really thinks that he bit off more than he could chew and his time was up.

His skin starts to dissolve, 10, 15, 20 minutes go by something clicks in the back of his mind to use his blade from the inside out.

In a lot of pain he starts cutting through the thin stomach lining, it's slow work but it's working. 25 minutes pass and Mira now thinks Kronnelti isn't getting out. Tears start running as Krum pulls her in she's thinking she got to the only brother that she loved and understood why is was always protective of her is now gone.

35 minutes go by and Kronnelti can barely stand up! He's slowly digging into the thick membrane outside the stomach, god dammit he mutters dig harder.

Now it's been a half hour and still no signs of Kronnelti, the group starts to call off the hunt as to save Mira.

50 minutes and the knife breaks skin the worm starts screeching in pain and nobody knows why until they see a reflection of some kind.

Mira calls out for her brother YOUR ALMOST THERE she screams. The rest of the group turn back and run towards the reflection while the others fought off the smaller worm.

Krum shouts out RIP OPEN THE BEAST. Everybody is cutting and pulling making this massive hole for Kronnelti to stumble and fall out. As this happens the massive 15' tall worm falls to it's side lifeless.

He gets up with the help of the men and stumbles over to Mira looks her dead in the eyes drops his blade and hugs her tight. He actually started crying for the first time in his life, he says " I almost lost you due to my need for battle"

Mira hugged him back, Kolar had been the same way. His need of battle had cost him his life. She didn't want to lose her brother the same way. "Let's get the doctor to look at you, then get back home before we get killed. Having too much fun." she tried to grin.

{IKS Che’Ta’}

Cleaned and in fresh clothes Mira stood by Awal as the doctor treated his skin for burns from being in the worm.

Krum entered, shaking his head. "You do know that fighting them from the outside is much easier than the way you did it?"

Mira rolled her eyes, "You all are just crazy."

Krum frowned playfully. "We don't climb up a rock face with our bare hands?"

Mira's eyes widened, and then she laughed "Well maybe if you pit your stills against nature instead of the beasts, you would find out how challenging it is."

She turned to the doctor. "How is he?"
The older man nodded. "They will heal very well. Might leave a few more battle scares if he doesn't use the gel. "

Mira rubbed her eyes with her fingertips. "Then let's get home, Brother. When I planned on going swimming on shore leave, it wasn't in a swamp or with giant worms. We will need to make better plans next time." She said with a laugh.

Yea that will be good he said
