Huntin' wabbits...

Mission:
CSI: Chuck Norris
Location: USS Chuck Norris
Timeline: Current
[ Sickbay ]
K'ner nodded to Rodriguez and Lance. "I've got her. Go get that squared away. Seems a lot of activity in that area lately..."
As they double-timed it out of the medbay, K'ner nodded at the CMO to come over from where she was analyzing the latest air samples.
"I think that will work," she said, referring to the data she handed K'ner as the Doc gazed at the hapless XO. "Warp engine fall on her? She has the worst luck of anyone I know!"
K'ner shook her head, stepping off a bit to let the CMO work. "Drugged this time. Date rape situation."
The CMO's head snapped up. "So I take it we'll be doing another autopsy once she wakes up and finds out. I'll do a kit and neutralize the agents... here... and here..." She adjusted Mira's meds, letting her sleep a little longer while she was already down. "I'll file that in my report to the Capt. I'm sure he has little patience with this kind of thing."
K"ner nodded as she scanned the analysis. "And we're shielded in here?"
The CMO smiled. "Oh yeah. I know the moment anything moves in here. We're clear... right now."
K'ner smiled, but rather feral. "Time to go hunting... stay secure Doc." She tapped her collar bone and the helmet on her exosuit flipped into place.
Keying up her mic as she scanned her HUD, she confirmed her team's locations. "We're go, it works. ROE, monitor and track. I wanna know what these vermin are up to before we shut down their show. But, we defend personnel, and critical equipment. These guys are sneaky, but they're not invulnerable, especially since we know who they are. Keep those domes closed, they can't hear us chat, even standing next to you, and this is an isolated comm circuit thanks to Peke. And let me know if you see Delegate Sheris about, that worm just tried to compromise our XO, and Haz Squad takes care of our own!"
She heard and saw everyone's response, clipped and short, but no less emphatic. She moved off from the sickbay, wandering the corridor by the bridge and past. She saw her scanner sampling, now reading differences in the strength. One of the Suliban had been here, hell, they'd probably been everywhere by now, but they had more than enough samples to gauge proximity now and the HUDs would be able to define one, even behind a wall in a jeffries tube, or a maint space. Weren't computer sims so handy...
K'ner went over preparations... they'd mapped one Suliban already that was apparently observing whatever the boys had discovered on Deck 5, which dated the Norris since all the newer kits only had 4 decks. Nod and Taz tagged another one on Deck 3...
"Watch that one Taz. Don't let it get away on the cargo transporter back there." K'ner casually strolled around the corridor, watching the strength meter as the sensors they'd added to their suits cycled the air samples realtime. The ships HVAC would eventually filter out most contaminants, and while these things could conceivably survive a vacuum for a short time, they had to breathe eventually.
"Roadie... your toys haven't found anything eh?" K'ner knew if he'd found anything he would've reported it already, but she was looking for a sitrep.
"Norris isn't a huge ship, relatively speaking, but I've gone over about half of it so far. They're bound to have something attached out there to relay comms, or even to get them past our shields to escape maybe, or just outside the hull... when I find it, they won't be happy when they get ghosted by their own tech."
"Be extra close when you're around Deck 5..." K'ner smiled. That wasn't her best look, and tended to disturb personnel not prepared for it. But they'd all kept their visors opaqued so no one could see in. K'ner didn't know if the Suliban could read lips, but it was a tactical possibility she wanted to eliminate in any case.
When her readings started to climb the scale she continued her stroll normally, seemingly bored and wandering. That was the last one unaccounted for. Now they would map their movements. They seemed to be hanging around key areas... whether to be ready to do something, or just monitor important activity, she didn't care which, so much as being able to respond quickly and decisively...
She watched the vid-sim and was relieved the creature didn't continue into the bridge space. It seemed to be content to settle nearby... 'course there was a lot of stuff running around the bridge and very little free space, so if it did try to move through one of the air conduits, even as flexible as they are that would impede the airflow and set off maint warnings at the least. There was plenty of stuff within reach on this deck too besides the bridge. She updated her 'eyes only' data feed to Kronnelti...
She thought about that... It was very near the main transporter up here. Being just a Defiant-class ship we only had the one, plus a backup, and the cargo-transporter down on 3 where the other Suliban was hanging out. Hmmmm... what are they up to? She didn't know... yet... but they no doubt were watching security personnel, but who watches the Hazard team who are listed as regular crewman for all their cross-duties on a ship as small as this... The exosuit might give her away as something out of the ordinary but it wasn't an armored battlesuit, we were on yellow alert and the thing would need to get out close enough to see her and hoped she would at least get the benefit of the doubt that she was damage control and hazard mitigation...
:OFF
not sure where y'all are taking the Suliban, but just playing around with setting up to deal with them...
