Kevin and Ensign Greaves entered the sick bay to find it empty. Although not familiar with the ship's layout, he had found a wall communicator and after some little experimentation had been able to activate it. He had discovered that he was aboard an old Constitution class heavy cruiser, the USS Enterprise, but that the stardate coincided with the current date in the 24th century. More importantly the computer had given directions to the sick bay.

Ensign Greaves immediately went about gathering medical instruments. Kevin had learned that she was a medical officer though not a doctor. While waiting on her, he consider the situation. The environs suggested time travel but the computer acknowledging the date indicated otherwise. He still couldn't rule out a hallucination but the evidence was point more towards abduction.

"Damn," Ensign Greaves exclaimed.

"What's wrong," Kevin inquired.

"I can't find a PADD," she replied.

"I think that the monitors are mounted to the wall," he said, indicating the screen above the examination table.

Nodding she told Kevin to lay back, assuring him that it wouldn't hurt. They all say that, he thought.

Ensign Greaves ran the medical scanner over Kevin's body the around his head while staring at the monitor intently. "Vitals are within normal range." Tapping the monitor she selected imaging and ran the scanner around Kevin's head again.

After a minute, she said, "This isn’t telling me anything. Computer, analysis of Lieutenant Lance's cranium."

There was no response. Kevin recalled that medical officers were technicians, trained to implement treatment instructions from a computer or a qualified physician.

Letting out an exasperated breath, the medical officer punch the activator on the wall communicator and repeated her order.

"Command not recognized", the mechanical female voice replied.

Ensign Greaves gave a unintelligible exclamation of frustration before demanding, "Computer, activated Emergency Medical Hologram!"

"Command not recognized"

"Of course. I don't think that you have a hematoma but need a doctor to confirm." Addressing the communicator, she announced, "Greaves to Sheela."

There was a flash of light and Kevin found himself laying on a beach with waves gently lapping at his feet. The air was warm with a cool breeze coming in from the ocean.

Scrambling to his feet he noticed that Greaves was wearing a rather revealing bikini. Looking Kevin over from head to foot she commented, "I figured you were muscular but...Wow!"

Kevin looked down at himself. He was naked or very nearly so. A cloth pouch covered his genitals with a supporting thong running around his hip and between his buttock, leaving them quite exposed.

Feeling the color rising to his face he looked around the beach seeing groups of humanoids milling about up and down the beach. A beautiful woman wearing a short dress with a revealing neckline that plunged to below her navel approached and handed Kevin and Greaves cocktail glasses brimming with an orange concoction from the tray she was carrying. "Welcome to Risa," she invited cheerfully.

Kevin stared at her in disbelief. "What in Cochran's name is going on?" he wondered aloud.
