On the Run

ON (Starbase 10 - Deck 25)

The footsteps echoed through the hallway, only followed by the sound of a small amount of heavy breathing, and grunt every once and awhile, and the sound of water being squirted out from a cantina to ones mouth.
Aurther's hand reached up and swept away the sweat that was starting to pour down his face. Checking his watch, his hour long jog was almost at an end. He decided to use deck 25 for a few good reasons. The first, was that he didn't feel it necessary to use up a holodeck for this one activity, it was a waste of resources, time and a holodeck. Second, deck 25 had a wonderful stretch of hallway was outlined with large windows for half the section that peered into the Starbase. For this time, one could see the traffic and ships that was coming into the Starbase as well as leaving, as well as keeping an eye on the repairs of the Chuck Norris. Thirdly, the other half has a beautiful view out into deep space. Starbase 10 hung out in space all by herself, not near any planets or large bodies, someone alone. However there was a red and white nebula that you could see off in the distance. It was elegant and mysterious. Every time he ran by those windows and looked at it, the only thought that went through his mind was taking a shuttle and exploring it. However there was no time for that right now. He heard the gentle beeping from his wrist. Indicating that it had been an hour and his workout was now over, he made one last finally run to the finish.

"On your left" he announced to a few crewman as he ran by the final leg. Panting he bent over to catch his breath, taking the last drink of water he had, a peaceful serenity and bliss filled his body as a smile crept over his face.
