Sitting Idle

Mission: Trial by Fire
Location: Starbase 10
Timeline: Present

Rory had been waiting patiently for what felt like days for the USS Chuck Norris to arrive back at the Starbase. But there was still no sign of the Defiant class ship returning. What the hell was going on?

Rory decided that he had waited long enough and approached the office of Starbase 10’s docking commander. If anyone would have any answers, the docking commander would.

Pressing the door chime, Rory was called in almost immediately. “Lieutenant,” the commander nodded, taking into account the pips on Rory’s collar, “Commander John Stone. What can I do for you?”

“Commander, I accepted a transfer to the USS Chuck Norris a few weeks ago and she was supposed to dock here at Starbase 10 but she still hasn’t arrived.” Rory explained in his thick Scottish accent.

Stone nodded, “She is late docking, that’s for certain. Look, take a shuttle and rendezvous with her if you’d rather not wait around here for her to arrive. God knows those cowboys do whatever they like anyway!” He inputted the last known co-ordinates of the Norris into a PADD and handed it to the young Science Officer. “Take shuttle 12 from shuttlebay 3, I’ll inform them of your arrival ahead of time to okay everything.”

Rory stood to attention, “I appreciate it sir. Thank you.” He left the office with the PADD in his hand. A short while later he was sat in the cockpit of shuttle 12 and initiating the manoeuvring thrusters. It was time to find the USS Chuck Norris!
