Mission: Trial by Fire
Location: USS Chuck Norris
Timeline: Current

ON: (U.S.S. Chuck Norris - Bridge)

"Captain Winters", Ensign Bailey said out loud, getting Aurther's attention. "May I Have a word with you in your ready room."

Aurther looked up from the few PADDs he had his hand. Mostly damage reports and a report from sickbay. The Chuck Norris was in orbit at least for now. The other hostile ship had been caught in the orbit and still appeared to be no threat to them. For this reason, Winters felt it was acceptable to leave the bridge for a few moments. "Of course Ensign, please." He gestured to a small door at the side of the bridge. Aurther entered first, all of his small belonging were now on the floor. He had no time to really address them, but took his seat in the small room. Bailey found it to be much smaller than most ready rooms. Enough room for 2 people to sit, and one to stand. "Now, what is it Mr. Bailey?" Winters asked as he leaned back slightly in his chair.

"You know earlier, that I told you the weakness in that Ferengi warship armor. Did you happen to read my personnel file when I came on board Captain?"

Aurther looked down at his desk, again in shambles and had to be honest, "I can't say that I did ensign. It must have been in my pile to look over when I thought we might have a little more time. I was curious that you had such information, and I can assume from this conversation that you plan on enlightening me to it a little more?"

"Well Captain you know I am three parts Ferengi, Klingon, and Human."

Winter's eyebrow raised in curiosity, "I was unaware of this."

"And I was raised on Romulas. I had been studying birds of prey since I was 8 and grew up studying schematics of Romulan ships. The Klingon ones are not not much different, and I studied them at the Klingon academy on Ogat. And a little secret, all Ferengi ships that were received in acquisitions from the Klingons and other species, that one we saw was a small Klingon one but the weaknesses were all the same. I did not put it in my file due to threats on my life from the Romulans. They let me join Starfleet to be a spy, but I refused to let that be so. If they found out I gave you that info, they send assassins to kill me. The same goes with the Klingons and Ferengis. I wanted to do something. Better with my life, and I have and joining your crew is the best thing I have ever done."

"Well I must say Ensign, that is quite the story. Your entire life leading up to this point, sounds, almost unbelievable and is worthy of a few stories and a very in depth look into it. However, this is not the time nor the place for that conversation. I will say that I am glad to have you for those fancy maneuvers that you have pulled off, as well that that vital info on the hostile warships." Aurther stood up and fixed his uniform, "But I will say, I don't like secrets. I have more than my fair share of them around my career, and even a few more on this ship. It has lead to nothing but trouble, so if you need to tell me anything else that you think I need to know now, this is your chance."

I hear ya loud and clear captain well captain i was compared to at the academy to Wesley Crusher and Tom Paris not to brag also my knowledge of the birds. Are why i graduated top of class

It was this moment that the door bell chime went off. Without giving the Captain an opportunity to get a word out of acceptance or refusal to allow entry the klingon comes in.

"Captain, we've been able to get you your thrusters, partial impulse and limited warp drive capabilities back. Right now warp 1 is all we can provide." He said immediately upon entering the room.

"That will have to do for now, we're not going anywhere without the hazard team, so I would say to prioritize our maneuverability over speed. We are still in Federation space, so I don't think we need to go to fast."

Just then the Comm system opened up in the ready room. "Captain, Wyatt here, we are receiving a encoded Starfleet transmission from an Admiral. He says he is in low orbit, in a shuttle and has information on what happened as well as something about, Klingons we have on board? His transmission was hard to read, but I did get a fix on the shuttles location."

"Alright... set a course to intercept it and render aid if necessary", Winters looked back at Bailey. "Do you know something about this?"

"Apparently there is a klingon councilman that has sent a message to find the klingons aboard this vessel. It seems you now have two Klingon crew members." He replies not yet realizing that the cheif engineer was also a Klingon himself, standing behind him in the room. "I also have information that he is trying to locate some lost siblings."

"Do you know anything about this?" Winters gestured to G'ginloss, Bailey finally turned to see another Klingon looking back at him.

"Hello, Ensign Bailey nice to meet ya Lieutenant I am the new helm pilot. Did you feel those quick maneuvers earlier yeah was me." He cracked his knuckles, "Not to brag but yeah."

Looks at the Ensign, then at the captain and back at the Ensign. "Dacholha'choH, You are lucky though that the damn maneuvers didn't rip the ship apart, and its also fortunate for you that our captain knows this ship as well as he does. Being an engineer himself!" He says as he reigns in his anger knowing that the captain would not endanger his crews life unnecessarily.

" 'ej QongDaqDajDaq lengbogh qoDDaq vIHbogh lo'taHvIS tlhopDaq HuD." Ech'am said as he reverted back to his native tongue for a moment. Then realizing by the look on the captains face he translated. "It seems you have Klingon brothers aboard captain, and the small matter of a family secret unraveling."

"I would say we don't have time for this, but this feels all interconnected in some way. Let's go to the bridge and find this Admiral and see what he has to say." Aurther stood back up, "But I will remind you to keep your emotions in check on the bridge. That's and order."

"Alright Cap, I'm ready to get my hands back on those controls." Bailey stood up and started to make his way out of the ready room, he brushed into G'ginloss and stopped in the doorway and looked back at the engineer in the eyes. "Boda coq da Klingon" He paused before smirking, "Yes I too speak Klingon and with out that fancy maneuver we would not be alive Lieutenant. Time to show the crew why Cap made me the pilot."

"You remember to honor our captain by using his full rank and not just Cap, shortening it is disrespectful Ensign. If he was Klingon he would have your head for this disregard and don't you forget that." G'ginloss said to this other Klingon. "I agree Captain Winters, the events do seem to be entwined and I will hold my temper." He proceeds to walk out of the ready room to enter the bridge and figure out what is going on.

Aurther let out a heavy sigh as the two men left his ready room, "Those two fight like they're related..."
