Chin looked at the message again. “What the crap?” his hand formed a fist as he thumped the console.
Rodriguez looked up. “Now what?”
“Tell me you didn’t send this message to the commander.” Chin asked him.
Looking at him, Rodriguez shrugged. “It’s encoded to let him know we have his kid on the ship.”
Chin rolled his eyes so hard he was surprised they hadn’t fallen out. “That’s not what you sent. You send ‘bun in the oven.’”
Rodriguez nodded. “Yeah, meaning baby is nice and warm at home on the ship.”
“that’s not what it means. It means a woman is pregnant. YOU told the Commander his wife is Pregnant.”
“I did not…wait is she pregnant?” Rodriguez asked confused.
“No, she is not. Are you trying to get the man to run away? They have 4 kids already.”
Rodriguez frowned. “That’s not what it means and I hate to say this but he already ran.”
Chin asked one of the other crew members in the room. “If you hear ‘bun in the oven’ what does that mean to humans?”
One looked over and smirked. “Who did you knock up?”
Chin blushed. “I didn’t, but you proved my point. It means pregnant, not baby is safe on the ship.”
Rodriguez frowned. “Fine. If he ever comes back, he will be relieved there isn’t a 5th kid.”

Angel grinned. “We should do sister things.”
Mira looked up from her food. “Sister things?” the confusion was clearly written all over her face.
Angel smiled as she pulled out a bottle of clear blue liquid.
Mira frowned. Romulan ale was a bad idea, but if that was the contest, then she had nothing to be worried about. It was safe enough, but getting drunk then having some sort of physical contest was bad. Her eyes meet K’ner's, wondering if the meds she had given her would give an advantage in drinking? K'ner was looking at something, almost distracted, even though Mira knew she was anything but.
Mira took the glass being handed to her. “To family,” Mira held the glass first a moment until K'ner nodded almost imperceptibly, satisfied with the scan results but watching for the other shoe.
Angel smiled. “To family!”
K’ner breathed shallowly, opening her senses, receptive to subtle clues that might warn her about what was to come.
“Did you get my findings on your lost ship?” Angel asked after she took a sip of the Romulan ale.
Mira swallowed and said. “Yes, that probably saved us a very long search. Your intel said the damage was done in our universe then they dragged it back here for research. We can’t let the Terrans have that much of a lead against us or the races here.”
“Then you will be destroying the ship and base before you go?”
Mira looked at the man who had spoken. Tall, dark haired, and with cold blue eyes. Mira nodded, but she didn’t trust him. Why? She couldn’t answer right at the moment, but she was sure if she spent any length of time around him things could turn ugly. She looked at Angel, wondering what this guy was in the group here.
“When we’re you born? What time of day?”
Angel’s question was so far from the talks they were having at the moment it took her a full minute to remember. “Mother woke up in labor and had me that afternoon. I assumed it was the same for you?”
Angel shook her head no. “I was born late evening of the same day.”
Mira blinked, “So not everyone or everything is a mirror? What about our ……” She stopped, wondering just how to put this. “Are mom and dad alive?”
“No, the Terrans killed them in a raid. How did they die there?” Angel took another sip of her ale.
“Their ship blow up when I was 7.” Mira told her. There was a lot more to that story, but she didn’t feel there was a reason to get into it.
There was a high pitched sound. Mira was struggling to hear over the music. “Do you hear that?” Mira asked, unsure if Angel’s hearing was as well attuned as hers was?
“What are you hearing?”
Mira frowned, “a phaser on overload.” She pulled out her PADD to scan for a power reading. But before she could find it, Awal had lifted her up and was running away with her while yelling orders to the crew who seemed to be running with them.
K'ner was moving backwards, pointing to something as she spoke quietly over comms. Her squad-mates were herding people in different directions as they fell back.
Chaos broke out everywhere.
“Interference with ship communication.” One of her people yelled.
Mira cursed. Had they been the target or was the whole group. The Emperor had planned an attack. “Take the lift up.” Hopefully there would be less interference.
About that time, the explosions started.
"Captain..... where to now?" Awal asks, as Kronnelti continues running with Mira in his arms.
K'ner waved Chbet on to secure the lift as the rest fell in around Awal and Mira in the center. She flicked at something smoldering on her arm as she kept a wary eye, watching for the one that didn't look as surprised, or scared, as the rest. Her eyes locked on the candidate, gaze held amongst the protection the crowd moving frantically provided.
While she wanted to have some personal time with this individual, her current duty was to the safety of the Captain, now that Jason was secure above. She'd marked her target with a Dot in her HUD and continued to watch for other potential threats as the small group moved up and onto the lift.
Quickly, Mira counted heads. Her team was all accounted for. Still, it didn’t feel right to leave. Staying could be just as bad. They could be trapped here while her ship was under attack. Awal sat her on her feet. She leaned foreword to place her hand on her console to activate it. Pain exploded in her chest. Looking down, Mira cursed. She had been shot. Some sort of projectile weapon. Blasted! Looking around quickly for who shot her, she stumbled back, falling into Awal. “Get us back to the ship. Shields up, … She wanted to say more, but things were getting dark. Oh, she had better not be fainting. By all that was holy, she just couldn’t faint. It was too girly.
Awal lifted Mira up, shielded by K'ner and Chbet as they moved... "SHIP NOW Captain's been shot!" That's when he began sprinting. Kronnelti spends spike an image of him and Mira hurrying back to the ship..."Tell Kevin!"
=/\= Kronnelti to Montgomery..... I'm carrying Mira get a lock on us =/\=
{Above ground}
A Klingon shuttle appeared at of nowhere. “Run!” a crewman yelled from the entrance, weapon in his hand.
Montgomery had sent a cloaked shuttle down once he had the location of the away team. He wanted two ways of getting the team back home if the normal transports failed.
Once the away team scramble aboard, the door was secured the shuttle lifted up, at the same time activating shields.
Sandman shook his head at the blood. “Tell the ship to get a lock on her and K’ner. Get them to Sickbay as soon as possible.” He moved to a seat, locking the buckle. “Montgomery will want visual feeds. I don’t think it was the Trills. My bet is the Terrans.” He activated his PADD to see what feeds he could view.
K'ner nodded to him as her image faded away, her hands on the sparkly chest of the Captain.

K'ner exhaled sharply and stepped back to let Billingsly start cleaning up. "I give it about 2 minutes before she's fighting to get up..."
Anya nodded with a slight smile, getting all the sharp instrument out of reach first before she started to come to.
Consciousness came, not gradually, but in a wave, splashing over her. "AHH!!!"
K'ner pointed a finger at Mira's chest as she tried to rise, immediately running into it.
Mira immediately stopped and fell back. "OUCH! That hurt!" In seconds she'd run through the party... Jason... explosions... running... pain... shot... She looked over with a shallow breath.
K'ner had waited. "All secure. The Terrans are real tossers, but they seem to have been targeting the local Trill assets over us. I think we were just targets of opportunity, but we're still reviewing some vid footage, just in case. Montgomery and Kronnelti have shifted us around in space, but they're finally winding down from wanting to blow stuff up."
Before she could interject, K'ner continued. "Kids... check. Jason is clear and healthy. Yes, he did have a tracer, which I have taken the liberty of separating from him in a non-obvious manner, but he's a bit apprehensive with all the sudden changes."
She points again at Mira's chest. "That will be rather tender for a couple more days. Swings or slashes with your left arm might pull a little, so I would recommend avoiding any serious altercations if at all possible... please..." K'ner looked down, with fleeting hope fading ever so slightly...
