Mission: Into the mirror
Location: Orion
Timeline: Present

ON:

{ Orion }

Looking up Mira gave a little frown “ how high do you think you can toss me.”

Awal started to narrow his eye at her until he followed her gaze up the side of a building. “We going up?”

Mira nodded as Awal took ahold of her waist tossed her up. She grabbed a bar and swung herself up, tying off rope for the others to get up she looked over the ledge. “This spot should be perfect “

“And it should keep you out of trouble.” Awal added.

“I am not that bad “ Mira grumbled to him. Then she watched the others take up positions.

“far worse “ Awal chipped in with a grin making Mira roll her eyes briefly before she started scanning the area.

{ Later }

Mira wiped the rain off face as she looking through the glasses and frowned. “he’s late.”

“Could be any number of things.” She over heard someone say.
Mira dropped the glasses and rolled to her back to look up at the rain falling down on her, the roof top and the city below her. Her lips pressed together out of frustration.

This didn’t feel right, the wait was killing her.

Moving slowly to the other side of the building she scanned the area. “He either isn’t coming or he is already inside” she cursed. They had to have missed that small window. “Son of a targ, why can’t anything go right.” Mira started to strip off her gear. She was going in to find him

Then she heard K’ner’s voice. “Target located.”

Seeing the dot on her screen she inhale and let it out slowly. “K’ner you’re a go.” Once they had this guy the next step would be to get the information they needed. Getting a seven foot Orion back to the shuttle would be a problem in itself. One she wasn’t looking forward to.

{ Streetside }

=/\= “Echo Three, fall in as he crosses you. Echo Four, deploy distraction.” =/\=

=/\= “Chief, there’s two bodyguards. They’re trying to stay subtle but they’re not that good, or bored. Might not even be his, just tailing him closely. He seems oblivious…” =/\= Chbet’s sarcasm at the last part rang through clearly.

K’ner wasn’t surprised, assuming he was enough of a potential liability that someone might not trust him and need to keep an eye on him. They would probably have more to worry about from that direction than from the target himself. . . If everything went according to plan.

=/\= “Roger that. When I engage the target, you take care of them and then cover my six.” =/\=

Ahead, Margo started his loud rant at the hapless Ferengi with the barter stand he’d picked out for his demonstration. The small-statured man's small eyes well-rounded now at the outburst. “now, now sir…”

K’ner watched it from one of her remote cams, checking back along the side street their target had approached from instead of one of the two main avenues they’d expected. ‘Plans must be prepared to shift on the fly,’ she thought to herself, continuing to observe for any changes in the flow of traffic, both pedestrian and vehicular, the dots in her HUD designating each, plus watching for alerts for drones or anything airborne.

As the target approached her position, she evened out her breath, getting a fresh grip on the open bottle in her hand and taking a hesitant step forward and to the side. She watched the dots, +2 now with the bodyguards, as they all converged on the point ahead where the next narrow alleyway opened.

The crates she'd left there marked the interact point where he would have to divert to go around her as she stumbled, moaned, made a retching sound, then heeled forward to regurgitate her breakfast onto the sidewalk.

She could hear the gasp as her mark danced to the side, then veered closer to the opening of the alley after taking a second to consider trying to step over the sketchy-looking crates but thought better of it and took the safer route K'ner had laid out.

K'ner continued her act, throwing herself back as if overcompensating for her own reverse indulgence, forcing the large man even closer to the alley or risk touching her in her slovenly disguise. He was far from being fastidious in his own right, but he did have his standards, and this was well below even him!

"Ack!!" She mumbled, looking up at him when he failed to stabilize her uneven stagger, which conveniently corralled him yet closer into the shadows.

"Hey, you can't leave that on the sidewalk where someone might step in it!" Her words had some slur to it, plus the scar she'd previously created across the side of her lip tightened up her flexion so it no longer bent as she spoke.

"GAH!!!" He stepped back with clear distaste, hands up and in front of him to ward off the creature in front of him. "I DID NOT DO THAT, YOU DID!"

K'ner looked up, slowly from the waist up to his face, and watching in her peripheral as one of the bodyguards moved in slowly. The other dot that was his partner had fallen behind and stilled and she was sure that one would no longer be a factor in this encounter.

"Heyyyy," K'ner said, still slurring a bit and appearing to be trying to keep her balance as if she were on a boat being tossed at sea. "You're a tall drink of kaleba. What chu doin' tonight baby? You know you've never really been satisfied unless it's been with a Flaxian."

"GAH!!" He said yet again as he backed up slowly, trying not to study the criss-crossing scars on her head and face and the uneven gait that might indicate other physical problems with this hag. "You are ugly... I mean really, ugly... like, crazy bad. I mean, no offense, but... well, you are offensive but... oh my gosh, you need to get awa'..NO! Don't touch me!"

As she strategically staggered forward, K'ner wondered how such a large man with a normally husky speaking voice could reach such a high register. She ignored the other man getting closer from the street, leaving that detail to Chbet.

She pointed down suddenly. "Don't step in that!"

Her words had the desired effect. He splayed his feet to the side to avoid whatever was there, totally screwing up his stance as his head came down to glance around his feet.

All the pieces came together in his head just as the flash started seemingly in his eyes, erasing the view of his feet on the alley's plascrete and exploded behind them as his world went sideways, upways, downways, janeways. There were a few moments there where he thought he could reach his belt buckle but then again, he wasn't quite sure if anything was connected or communicating through the pain... then darkness... the sweet, peaceful darkness came.

K'ner shoulder-checked him so he fell backwards into the hotdog cart. She folded up his legs and arms, securing them with sec-bands and a gag to top off the new ensemble. She unclipped a few pieces of her bum disguise, laying them on the body. Flipping the shielded doors closed on the sides and top, she tossed on a floppy hat and rotated out the hanging pieces of meat and kabobs that looked none-too-tasty and pushed her way along and out the other end of the alley. If anyone was tracking him, that trail would end here.

Behind her, Chbet rolled a second crate next to the body which would partially hide it for now until someone walked by close enough. Maybe the guy would learn better for next time, assuming no one shanked him while he lay there unconscious. Chbet had no pity for either of them as the Aquelian casually strolled further along, turning into the alley and eventually catching up with her team leader.

K'ner was counting on the regularity of kidnappings in this city to reduce the chance of anyone that possibly saw the action to be at all motivated to do anything about it. Likely no one would get involved, or want to get involved, and even take great pains to avoid being called upon, for good or ill.

She watched the dance of dots in her HUD while she chugged along the street side, appearing to be headed for wherever she would normally set up her trade. Up ahead she could see Margo come around a corner and turn to keep ahead of her.

=/\= "Package acquired, transporting. ETA 7 minutes if traffic patterns maintain." =/\=

Got him! Mira grinned. “recall” Mira told her crew as she made her way down off the roof and tossed a hood over her long dark hair “ready for departure.” Her boots hit lightly on the side walk as she made her way back to the shuttle. That was too easy. She gave a little shrug well maybe not. By all that was holy she needed to stop talking to herself .

Aren’t you talking to me?

Mira frowned oh yeah right. Sorry Rodale.

Mira seated herself near the Orion as Billingsly removed his belt and checked his vitals, letting one of the other crew members take the co-pilot seat. “Get us out of here quickly.” Her fingertips tapped on the seat “keep him out until we got him locked up. “

Billingsly nodded, checking the dose she'd already prepared, knowing it was correct but K'ner had long since taught her to pay close attention to the details. The Orion didn't stir, sitting awkwardly, strapped into the seat with his hands and feet still bound.

Mira bit her lip. She had been trying to hold her breath, not wanting to take in the Orion stench in to her lungs. Her eyes darted to Awal as the fear started to overwhelm her. Starfleet medical warned her that she had been conditioned to fear the smell of Orions. It was true. It had happened another time on a Romulan mission. She breathed, slowing her heart. Mira could hear the shuttle docking.

She started to remove her gear. “DECON, then we start this.”

“I don’t think you being in the room will be of help, Mira.” Awal told her as he started to shutdown the shuttle’s systems.

“You are probably right, brother. But I will not ask my people and friends to do something that I can’t do.” Mira frowned, still watching the Orion sleep.
Awal stood and walked back to her. His large hand ran down her braid.
“Check on the kids. Make sure they’re ok. Then join us in the brig.” He told her softly.

She had been about to argue, but darn it, she did need to see the kids. So she gave him a nod. K’ner and Awal would see to their……guest.
