Mission: The days of our lives
Location: Relva Vlll
Timeline: Present

On:

{Revel Vlll, the Badlands}

Mira came out of the cave in a very thin beige dress. It was hooded, high neck line, and sleeveless. It reached almost to the ground but had 2 very high slits on each side of the dress. Gloves came over her wrists and up to her shoulders to protect her from the sun. Underneath she wore a sports bra and shorts. A belt was wrapped around her thin waist with a few blades attached and she had very worn boots on. She looked like one of the woman that lived in the desert. Slipping her sunglasses on her face to protect her eyes, she looked around as she pulled the hood in place over her head to hide her hair and added protection from the sun.

Awal smiled. “What was that fight about in the gym? I think, if I hadn’t had stopped it, you would have killed her?”

He knew her to too well, Mira thought as she took a seat on a rock and sat her backpack by her feet. “Something Vaasha said and it is still bugging me.” She gave a sigh. “First, she said Kevin was at his engagement party. Then she said that, in the best interests of the Chancellor and the Federation, that a bonding of house Rasmehlier to House of Antaak needs to take place as soon as possible.”

Awal raised an eyebrow. “After the last force marriage arrangement, you would think they wouldn’t have even thought about it.”

Mira nodded her head slowly. “I told her, so the Chancellor wants the head of house Antaak killed?”

Awol chuckled.

“They think I should just send my babies to Earth and start popping out babies with dralohk. Granted, he is a good looking man and he wasn’t in the middle of all that crap that happened with my son. But still, I am marrying Kevin. They know I have two kids with him. Now I don’t know how much of the information Isbethal gave me is true and who else she was working for because.” she waved her hand around “This seems all really odd. That mission plan was BS. We all knew it. House of Duras is trying to make a power play. If they join a few houses under their name, then they can gain more power.”

Awal nodded. “So you are thinking that this whole thing is some kind of plot? I thought Isbethal was a friend of yours?”

Mira frowned. “Yeah, I did too. I mean she is my exit plan or was my exit plan.” Mira started to rub sun screen on her legs she shook her head. “I could see her taking me to safety, but this is not safety and having my kids sent some place else was never in the plan.”

Awal nodded. “So, someone sent Kevin on a mission and then had you trapped here? What about the women we are looking for?”

“I don’t know. But this area is not safe for women on their own.” Mira told him quietly.

He nodded. “You're not on your own.”

Mira nodded, a slow smile coming to her face.

"I think it might be wise to have you act like the leader of this group. If someone is looking for me they will be looking for a Trill captain."

Makes sense said Awal. Regardless if I'm "acting leader" getting the crews advice always helps. He said

Mira watched the sun starting to get higher in the sky. Darn! She had hoped to be off by now. She was about to ask Awal if he thought K’ner was alright when the group walked in, pushing a few Orions and … Humans? Odd, she thought. Orions turned everyone into slaves, unless they had power.

She looked up at Awal. He had his arms crossed over his chest in a very dominant stance.

“Oh, look hun, K’ner bought … guest home. Should your pets eat them?”

Awal snapped his fingers for both Vay'toc & Spike to his side.

"K'ner any news to report? and you," as he looks at the Orions & the human. "speak now because these two are hungry," said Awal

K'ner waved Nod and Korra to the sides as she ushered in the guests. It looked like there'd been an altercation already, at least on their side. Deena and Kotsoo weren't with them, but were undoubtedly watching the perimeter.

"These men were out hunting... someone. They tried to call for support but that message doesn't appear to have gotten out. They want to talk to you... or get eaten... it remains to be seen."

Kronnelti rubs under his chin, speak he says with authority.

Mistake #1: "I DEMAND YOU RELEASE ME AND MY MEN!" The human was adamant and loud, as opposed to the other human that looked like he'd really rather be somewhere else. The two Orions appeared indifferent and only glanced about...

Mira raised an eyebrow but she let out a carefree giggle as she jumped off the rock. Hiding behind Awal. She poked her head around him to look at the men “Oh yes that one wanted to be pet food.” Mira giggled. She was trying to remember all the crazy things that ‘whisper’ used to do. Slinking out she knelt down next to Vaytoc and petted his now green fur and spots. Sending him a message not to really eat the men they were just playing with them right now. Of course if things went bad well the cats could do as they pleased.

Vaytoc hissed at the men.

“They do look yummy right? Just a few bits can’t be all that bad.” Mira stated in a voice far more softer than she normally used.

“Little one stop getting the cats to miss behavior. Soon they will be harder to handle than you are.” Awol told her Making Mira laugh.

“So they are hunters? Then they should have lots of goodies to sell! We could make a profit off this adventure.” She rubbed her hands together.

One of the man frown “We are looking for a party that crash landed here.” He told her.

Mira pouted “off worlders? Why by the holy rings would anyone come here?” She rolled her eyes acting like she didn’t believe that.

Awal knew people would be sending out search parties, he looked down at Mira “off worlders you think?” He then looked back at the others, “who ever crashed mustn’t have gotten far especially if they don't know this planet.” He said.

They sent a group after who was of the escape pod but he couldn't let anybody know something is off.

"That must've been that loud boom we heard yesterday." K'ner added to the story.

“For now you go to the back of the cave. These two cats will keep an eye on you and they will chase if you try to escape.”

Mira grinned “Make sure we get all their goodies!” she shrugged. “We are broke and need the goodies”

K'ner moved them into the cave, pointing out the back wall and squatting between Spike and Vaytoc. "You cannot eat them... yet. If they disturb you, or try to get away, just eat a limb, ONE... but try not to kill them."

She stood, looking down at the cats, then up at the visitors... "Sometimes they mind. Sometimes... not so much." The one human was ready to crap his pants. The two Orions hadn't signed on for this, they'd just joined so the two mercs could run around on their world, they would have to kill him after this was over. The human who thought he was in charge was waffling between fear of the cats and a bravado he couldn't enforce.

Mira knew K’ner would have searched them but that would have been something Whisper would have said and it was best to stay in character she thought. She was going to have to think of a better name for herself down here. She couldn’t use her old code name. Maybe Mora? No to close to her real name. Vi! Yes Vi Ral that should work.

"Little one follow me," Awal told her as he pats Mira's head, both now crouching just to the side of the entrance of the cave, whispering with K’ner when she stepped outside.

"Ok so somebody sent out search parties, what is our next move because we can't stay here and unfortunately we can't let them go? I have a strange feeling they will report to somebody about us." Said Kronnelti

Mira nodded her head in agreement “Well people would be curious about a crash only these guys don’t look like the helpful type. If this wasn’t part of some plan it’s possible they are looking for people to sell. They aren’t carrying anything from the pod so they aren’t scavengers. They must be slavers or they are part of a plot to get us."

K'ner looked back and forth at each as they spoke. "A little of both I suspect. This is all quite convoluted, which works to our advantage with all the confusion and lack of details on the big picture." K'ner mulled over some ideas for containing and delaying any response from these guys.

"Either way. You're right we can’t let them go. They could ambush us later. If we leave them tied up they could just get loose.” Mira cursed under her breath trying to come up with a plan.

“Whatever it takes to survive and get home. There isn’t going to be a report on this mission.” She told them then looked back over her shoulder at the men then turned back to K’ner and Awal.

“If they get their hands on us they will take everything we have including our lives and freedom. If they sell us then we are going to wish we were dead. ” Mira frowned. “no one use our real names in front of people. I’ll go by Vi Ral.” She looked at K’ner “Sorry I called your name out. It will not happen again. Any ideas on what we should do?”

K'ner shrugged. "We can play it off as Konner or something similar. They're more likely to believe that, if they even care about that at this point. They're mercs... slavers looking for a payoff. At least the humans. The Orions are just along for the ride. I bet someone has put them on our trail, not telling them much about the target, either hoping they might luck out and find us, or flush us out into the open."

She continued after the pause. "I can chemically subdue them for a period, and we have their comm gear. Even so, that could buy maybe a day before they get someone's attention. We'd need to be well on our way to a solution by then."

"I don't want to have to knock them out but if we have to move at night, then it's our best move. I can scout as he looks out." Awal added.

"The sun's high," he says. "OK I'll be back. Keep an eye on them, I'll have Spike give me visuals on them too." as Awal walks out and climbs up the mountain to get a better lay of the land.

K'ner shot a message to the team, bringing them up to speed as she made a suggestion to add to her offer before. "I can add a little confusion to their cocktail... buy us a little margin even if they are picked up. It will be a bit before anyone gets something actionable out of them, then they'll be just starting an accurate search. By the time they get an indication of where we might've gone, we should be on to our next phase... getting off-world and out of this system! Only a slight chance of any brain damage."

K'ner smiled at Mira's raised eyebrow. "Itty-bitty," she said, holding out her thumb and forefinger with a small gap.

Mira grinned. “just a little bit? Well, now I don’t know. That might be an improvement for them.” She chuckled and nodded. “do what you can. Then we tie them up and see about closing off this entrance. We have to cross that open landscape between us and that mountain range. It’s wide open but once we get to the mountains, there are places to hid. If we move quickly, stopping for short breaks and in the heat of the day only. It might take us a week to get to the spaceport. Then we have to find a ship to steal. With a crew we don’t mind stranding here.”

K'ner nodded. "Kotsoo is the engineer, he can see how to block the entrance so it'll take a bit to get out. Leave them with 1/2 their rations, which really wasn't much, so I assume they didn't expect to be out long. Not sure how much of that was false bravado or they're just that stupid."

Mira took her glasses off to rub her tried eye then slipped the glasses back on. Making sure her hood was in place she looked around

“We plot a course to get us out of Orion space as soon as we can. Then we stop off at the first federation base we find. I want to establish my erratic behavior as soon as possible. Maybe zig-zag a few bases so they can’t figure out what direction we are going.” Mira told her.

"As soon as we're back in friendly space, we can send some covert messages. We need to confirm the kids' whereabouts, and see if you can track down the XO. If he did go on a side mission while you're here, maybe we can throw a monkey wrench into that one too... or you'll have to wait for him to get clear... and we all know how much you like waiting..." K'ner didn't smirk, but she was tempted to.

Mira chuckled, "if I find out who put this all together they are going to be hurting."

Awal comes back after spending an hour above.

He talks with Mira letting her know there is rain clouds coming in and with the sun setting the clouds will block out the light of the moon.

"This will be our best opportunity but we will get wet." Said Awal

"Wet isn't bad. I would kill for a shower right now." Just as long as it didn't turn into one of the storms she heard about that happened here.

"The only easy day was yesterday..." K'ner messaged with Kotsoo about blocking off the cave entrance once they were ready to roll.
