“Disastrous!” the first hooded figure complained, “Two resets wasted because the Klingon is less susceptible to memory suppression! He should be eliminated from the matrix.”

“Be calm,” the second hooded figure soothed, “His alien biology has presented certain challenges that we are in the process of mitigating."

"Mitigate? MITIGATE?" the vocal pitch of the first steadily increased, "When the masters are inconvenienced, they revisit their discomfort upon us tenfold!"

"I am aware of how the masters express their displeasure," the second answered coolly, "We should focus our efforts on the next reset."

Their observation was that the most optimal output was generated when the Captain and her mate were paired. There was an inexorable bond between the two that overcame the memory suppression, when they were together. They planned a little experiment while the others argued about the next scenario to present.

A remote location with a smaller group of nexus points to minimize variables. Neither would have direct knowledge of the other nor of their condition outside of the matrix. They would, however, plant a seed of recognition in the male that should draw the two together.

Under their direction, the computer created a castle on a storm swept coast.
