{Guest Quarters}

It had been a long day dealing with the Klingons. Mira needed to relax for a while before dinner. Mira was floating on her back in the pool, created in her quarters combined with holodeck, enjoying the feel of the cool water on her skin. The bathing suit that Commander Montgomery had sent over was a flattering but revealing two pieces that had included a handwritten note from the second officer, hoping that Kevin liked her in it. Mira might have been embarrassed to be seen in public in the attire, but in the privacy of her own room, she didn’t mind even if she did intent to give the Lieutenant Commander a good butt chewing. She had asked for one of her bathing suits.

“I hope I am not disturbing you,” a woman’s voice called, “You didn’t answer the chime, and the door was unlocked.

Mira submerged all but her head below the water and reflexive moved her arms to cover herself. Nauarchus Saeihr was standing by the side of the pool in a short black robe. Her hair was down and draped over one shoulder. "Jeez give a girl a heart attack." she blinked

"How did you get by the security guards?" Mira asked, felling a little stupid for not locking her door yet again, but she had Jackson. D'klala and Centurion Kocas, why lock anything with them around. Then a second thought hit her. Why was Saeihr in a robe?

"I told them that I was here on Triumvirate business, silly." Mira wasn't certain that Saehir had said that last part but it was implied in her tone. "I don't think the Centurion believed me but it wasn't his place to question me. Your security officer scanned me and was satisfied that I'm not armed. That Klingon, however, insisted on a more detailed search. Handsy one that."

Mira laughed. "I bet she was. The Klingons are settled in their room."

Saeihr dripped a toe in the pool. "May I join you?" she asked and then without waiting for an answer, she shrugged out of the robe and slipped into the water. Under the robe she was wearing an emerald green one piece cut high on the hips and tying behind the neck, exposing a generous amount of cleavage.

"Of course. The water is amazing. "Mira smiled. "If I didn't know better, I would swear I was on Risa. Having rooms with holodecks is really ingenious. Saves time when you have unique guests." At least the woman hadn't stopped by last night. Now, that would have been embarrassing.

“I have never been on Risa,” Saeihr confessed, “I am glad that the replicate is accurate. I so wanted you and your crew to be comfortable.” She waved an arm about to indicate the quarters, “It is a test, really, combining holo-tech into personal quarters. I am told that the results are favorable so far.”

"Impressive is more like it." Mira nodded. "Honestly, this has even the feel of Risa down to the amazing scent the floral gives off. Normally, when I go to the Holodeck, I have to....... pretend I am actually in the open or the area I picked to visit. It's something I need to treat myself to for myself to be happy, but this. " She grinned."I would never have to leave the base if it felt like this."

She dipped her head back in the water for a moment. Then, decided to get down to business. "The Klingons aren't going to just stay in the Suite, though. Is there a reason they have been excluded from the talks? I think you have until dinner before someone is going to have to deal with them. Ambassador Jeth'un Klarr is one of the most honorable Klingons I know. I advise you to be as honest as you can with him."

Nauarchus Saeihr raised an eyebrow. "Are you always this open and honest about things?"

Mira laughed "Yes it is one of my .... Faults or so, I have been told anyway. " she gave a little shrug.

Saeihr took a deep breath and expelled it slowly, then said, “Long standing animosities between Romulan and Klingon mostly and the Imperial Senate doesn’t believe that the interests of the Klingon Empire are germane to our decision to ally with the Gorn. They were included in the talks at the insistence of your Ambassador M’Niras.” She smiled at Mira. "And don't apologize for being open and honest. I find it charming."

Mira smiled at the compliment. "I have found that most races are out for their own people. It's understandable. I guess it's not really a Trill trait as a whole. We lean towards the pursuit of knowledge for knowledge. I would have preferred the Gorn not to attack anyone, but they are like making friends with a wild, highly intelligent animal. They will keep who the wish around until they get hungry. Then you're the meal. " She frowned for a moment "from personal dealing with being attacked by only one of the Hachlings. I would suggest that they your people start learning advanced hand to hand combat with some kind of sword. The Hachlings are more dangerous than the gown Gorn. Also, from what I have seen, the Gorns' weaknesses run to cold weather conditions. If a weapon could be made using the cold, it would give your people an upper hand. I already sent my report into star fleet command. I am sure they will be working on something. "

"Those were our assessments as well,” Saeihr nodded, “but the Romulans face a greater existential risk than the Gorn pose. And didn’t I hear from Ambassador M’Niras that you live with a ‘wild, highly intelligent animal”? When do you expect your crew to be on the menu?”

She let the implication of her words sink in a moment before continuing, “But as to one of the two reasons for my visit. I must warn you that the negotiations are not going in your favor. The Triumvirate is leaning towards rejecting an alliance against the Gorn.”

Mira nodded her understanding. She hadn't really thought they would. Not with the way they handled things.

"Vaytoc is....... well, his species is highly intelligent and, to an extent, telepathic. He is more intelligent than any wild animals. His mind is linked to mine. " She shrugged. "His choice. And his species does not search out intelligent life to have their children eat it. They will defend what is in their keeping with their lives." Mira gave a moment for that to set in. "If the Romulan empire turns down a union to join forces again with the federation. I wish your people well. I truly do. I understand your people will need to leave your world one day soon. It would be safest to start looking for very cold worlds because if the federation, Klingons, Vulcan, Trills, Betazoids, Cardassians Bajoran, and a 100 other race can't defeat the Gorn well." She gave a little shrug."It will only be because they have over hatched the amount of troops. What do you think they will do to feed that many troops later?"

Mira asked more out of curiosity than anything else. She gave a little shrug. "I bet the Klingons will bet the Gorn on all on their own. The little Trick the Gorn were trying to pull on the Klingons didn't work, and well It's become a matter of honor for them. "

She moved out of the pool. picking up a towel, she started to dry off . "I will try to come up with a reason to take the Klingons with me when I leave. I really wish you hadn't invited them. They don't take being called for negotiations and then told no, but then again, I guess the Gorn wouldn't either. " Mira wrapped the towel around her, thinking she should dress and come up with a reason for the Klingons to leave.

"Again, it is your ambassador that you can thank for the presence of the Klingons," Saeihr pointed out, "You man did very well in the attache's meeting. It was refreshing to hear arguments presented by someone so free of guile." She came up to towel the water off of Mira's back.

Mira smiled at hearing how well Kevin had done. "He is a good male. " Mira had been so lost in thoughts and trying to make plans to leave she hadn't realized Nauarchus Saeihr had moved to her and had her hands on her back.

She stiffened, then turned to face Nauarchus. A look of confusion crossed Mira's delicate face. With her hands tucked inside the towel, Mira pressed the security button on her wrist for Jackson, feeling very odd, having Nauarchus so close.

She would need him and D'klala to help her come up with plans. It was probably best just to be honest with Klarr. After all, it was Ambassador M’Niras that had included them, and the Romulans she didn't think had really planned to be on the Federation side.

Then, quite unexpectedly, Saeihr moved into kiss Mira. The latter was so surprised that she didn't have time to react.

"Uhh, Captain," Roberts called out embarrassedly, "You summoned us?"

Mira stepped back quickly as she touched her lips with her fingertips tips in shock. By all that was holy, she had thought herself safe because the woman had been flirting with Kevin..... wasn't she? Hadn't she been? "I don't......I am not...." She blinked, deciding to go with. "I am with Kevin." her voice came out as a little squeak. She almost back over the lounger and would have fallen if not for D'klala. "I am sorry but ..." That's not happening, Mira's thought.

A look of genuine confusion crossed Saeihr's face. "I thought that Trill were polyamorous," she said, "and Ambassador M'Niras had said that the officers in his Star Fleet escort were open to physical dalliances. Well, maybe not explicitly those words but the implication was clear."

Roberts looked like he would rather be anywhere else in the galaxy right now. D'klala's expression was more of peaked interest, as if she wanted to she how all of this was going to play out.

"Oh." This she could handle, and she was killing M'Niras the first chance she got.

"True some are, but mostly it's the joined Trills. When you carry a symbiont that has lived both male and female lives, feelings and emotions get muddled. You literally carry the love of past lovers that have been male or female. I personally have only been truly in love two times in my life. My late mate Kolar and Kevin. I could never betrayal my heart or Kevin by giving away what I have already placed in his keeping. I am sorry for the confusion. It is clear now that Ambassador M’Niras doesn't know me or my crew very well."

"Oh gods," Saeihr exclaimed, "When Ambassador M'Niras said...I thought...rather I hoped...". Her face turned a deeper shade of green as she looked back and forth between Roberts and D'klala. The Klingon bodyguard held Saeihr's gaze without wavering but Roberts had the good manners to look away. Saeihr hastily grabbed and donned the black robe. "This has all been a terrible mistake," she wailed as she headed for the door.

Mira thought that the Nauarchus was on the verge of breaking into tears and bit her lip.... Then, she looked hopelessly at D'klala wanting advice.

"Saeihr? If my heart wasn't already taken ......." She left that thought hang then added, "You are a very beautiful woman. Someone will be very proud to have you in their life."

Saeihr nodded her head and left.

Mira set down abruptly and then started to pace back and forth. "We have trouble."

D'klala laughed. "You do have interesting trouble."

Mira shook her head no. "Not her, but I might have made a problem.... " Mira frowned. "No, it would seem the Romulans didn't invite the Klingons to talk..... M'Niras did, and I doubt they will be joining us against the Gorn. "

D'klala frowned. "Then we should leave them to the Gorn and go. There is no reason to stay."
