With the arrival of his new Captain, he(Winters) hoped he would be right back into it.

"Sir!" yelled a crewman that he didn't yet recognize. "The Captain's coming aboard now!"

"What?!? Already?" Winters hadn't even heard the crewman come in! He jumped from his chair and darted down to the transporter room.

{Transporter Room}

It was empty.

He immediately went for the controls, still too quick to even notice that he was out of breath. He fiddled with settings, and then the display. "Shuttle? Oh, shuttle!!"

Another mad dash.

{Shuttle Airlock}

"Open the airlock," he said as he stepped into the room. He had just made it.

vonMcCormick entered the ship. "Commander Winters?"

"Yes sir, I'm Commander Winters, your XO."

"I know you're my XO, Commander. That's why I called for you. Meet me in my quarters in two hours. Don't bother me with anything else."

And he was gone before Winters could even confirm the odd order.
