On:

[SB 364 Transporter Room]

Trace rounded the corner into the Transporter Room aboard the Starbase, his duffle hanging on one shoulder. He wore his field gear: a tough pair of pants made out of a synthetic material sporting multiple pockets, a black leather jacket and his wide brimmed hat. At his side hung a whip and a modified phaser that was modeled after an old earth revolver. He looked his team up and down and chuckled. They were outfitted in their Starfleet uniforms.

“Listen up folks. Where we’re going it’s going to be alternately hot and sunny, and completely dark. There will be bugs, rocks, cave ins, and who knows what else. You’ve got a few minutes to get yourself properly kitted out. I recommend light sources, bug repellent, weapon of your choice, and tough clothes. Replicate what you don’t already have and be back here in ten.”

While they were gone, he reviewed the dossier.

Ensign Daisy Reynolds-Orion-Science Department specializing in Planetary Geophysics

Crewman John Chapman-Human-Security Department specializing in Small Group Tactics

Crewman T’Valik-Vulcan-Security Department specializing in Crowd Control

Ensign Geneva Thor...

He paused at the sound of booted steps behind him and turned to see Geneva striding into the transporter room. She was kitted out for planetary exploration: a tough pair of leather pants, a black tank top with a jean jacket over it, and a baseball cap. At her hip she had a long knife on one side and a phaser on the other.

“Look,” she said before he could say anything. “I know you didn’t want me on this mission, though I don’t know why, but you need me. Don’t bother arguing because nothing you can say will change my mind.”

Trace opened his mouth to speak, then closed it, then opened it again, then closed it. The rest of his little team came in at that point, a little better prepared for what was ahead. “All right, let’s move.” He said.
