Timeline: Present

Tapping her commbadge Mira said “On my way.”
She put Vaytoc into their quarters, then moved down the hall to the transporter room 1. “Kira? Have found out something about the Captain?”

“No, he wasn’t on any of the ship’s we checked, but I Need you to come with me.” Kira smiled and tucked Mira’s arm in hers. she tugged Mira onto the transporter.

Mira raised an eyebrow “Where are we going?”
“To the holodeck”. Was Kira’s replay.

With everything that was going on, Mira was about to say no, but there wasn’t anything more she could do on the ship. With a nod to the transporter chief, she said “Two to beam to DS9”

Mira looked at Kira while they walked. “Ok, what’s really going on?”

Kira smiled. “We are going to the holodeck. I think it will do you some good.”

Mira was confused because Kira and her weren’t that close that they would go to the holodeck unless Dax took them both.

Quark was laughing and puckered his lips. He, then, pretended to faint.

“ignore him, Mira. If he think he can get a rise out of you, he will keep it up.” Kira told her.

“I should have punched him when he first started, then he wouldn’t be doing it at all.” Mira told her.
Kira just laughed, “Can’t do things like that now that you’re a commander.”

{Holosuite 1}

“Computer activate program.” Kira nodded as a complete replica of the USS Chuck Norris Bridge appeared. “Take the seat.”

Mira frowned but did as she was told.

Kira pulled out a PADD and started typing. “This the time index that the Romulan ship started to appear. Before it completely uncloaked you order the ship to fire.”

Mira hung her head. Now she knew what this was about. Lifting her head she met Kira’s eyes. “Ok, what should I have done? Go to red alert. Comms, contact that ship.”

The Romulan ship fired destroying the USS Avenger. “Fire weapons.” Mira yelled. But a 2nd blast hit the ship, hard.

Kira nodded. “That is without taking into account that the Romulans weapons were outlawed. This is what ,more than likely, would of happen to the nebula." a map came up on the screen showing the nebula gone. The Cardassian ship destroyed. “By the way, they had already reported that your ship was in the area. Who do you think the Cardassians would have blamed for all this destruction? Star Fleet and the Cardassians would be in a war. Now, if the Romulans had escaped and made it back to Romulus, they would have a working weapon to use on anyone. How long before time was messed up.”

Mira sighed “Ok, could I have handle it better?”

“No and don’t start doubting your command decisions.” Kira smiled “You did the right thing and, even when the loss of life tore you up, you didn’t crumble. You got both ships to a safe area, then you took care of you. I am very proud of you.”

Mira blinked back tears and hugged Kira nodding.

“Now, if you want to try different variations on your choices, we can. But, both ships being destroyed is the best one. Both Captain Shrun and I had tried them all.”

Mira looked shocked. “Why?”

“How else was I going to help you?” Kira told her. “The very fact that you fell apart afterwards shows you still have too big of a heart and that talk with Captain Shrun was brilliant. You let him know they weren’t in the time line and they could have a life here and you even came up with a possible, yet crazy way to get home. “ She laughed “You do think out of the box, don’t you?”

Mira sighed “Yeah, I guess I do.”

Kira smiled. “Don’t doubt yourself. Not now, not ever.”

Kira pulled her out of the holosuite and into the bar where Ezri Dax sat looking nervous. Mira had talked to Ezri because she was as close to being a friend and she was a counselor. Mira just didn’t thought she would pull Kira and Shrun into it was well.

“Feeling better?” Ezri asked.

“I will once I find my captain. I am not ready for the Captain’s chair.” Mira laughed.

Kira laughed with her. “He can handle himself. I am sure he will be back soon”

Some kind of Chocolate dessert that Ezri and Kira called ‘Death by chocolate’ was set in front of them and a Raktajino. Mira started to relax.
