Back in the groove

Mira put the last PADD down with a sigh. It seems all the repairs were completed, and there was nothing new to report. That was far too much time spent on reading ‘yes we fixed your ship again, and don’t let intruders mess it up.’ See, now that would have been so much better, she thought. Mira rolled her eyes, and everything had to be documented in triplicate.

She stood up and stretched her body. She had far too much energy building up. Normally, her outings were filled with running, hiking, and climbing. But, it really had been too cold to do any of that. She could see it now, running along the snow and poof, she would have been buried in a snow over her head. No, thank you. Once was enough for her.
At least she got to spend a day swimming. Activating her PADD to see where Vaytoc was, she grinned, he was in the gym, just the pace she wanted to be.

{Personal quarters}
A quick change, and she would go for a run.

Walking in, she spotted flowers. Going over to them, she touched a yellow petal. Mira had never received flowers before. Picking up the note, she read it and smiled. Well, at least he hadn’t called her Commander.

“Computer do yellow …Roses have a special meaning?” Mira asked.

“On Earth, they have a few different meanings, joy, friendship, good health celebration, and loyalty. In Eastern culture, they..”

“Computer stop.” Mira said, still smiling that told her enough. Changing quickly, Mira headed for the gym. She went straight for the treadmill, setting a timer for 45 minutes, then increasing speed and the incline for running uphill. Once she got to a fast run, she got into the zone. Now she had a clear mindset and happy endorphins kicking in.

She closed her eyes, picturing an outdoor scene in her mind.
