Something is afoot...

...Slipping into the room, Mira asked, "How was he killed?" just as the Captain uttered the same question.

“Phaser wound.” K’ner answered. “High setting. Direct to the chest.”

Mira shook her head. "Not possible, that would have set off the security protocols."

K'ner nodded. "I would normally agree captain, commander," she said, nodding to each. "That's the first thing I checked once we'd confirmed cause of death.. unofficially... pending the autopsy of course." She motioned her colleagues to continue with the body.

"Peke..." K'ner snapped, looking to the left.

One of her squad took a step forward, hands at his back in a parade rest stance. K'ner snapped up her phaser and triggered it, the flash of light impacting the man in the chest. Instead of a crater, the light spread across his chest, along with a slight grimace, as most of the occupants in the room were starting to react.

K'ner looked back at the Captain, her hand in the air, a finger pointed upward, as she looked like she was listening for something. It didn't take but a second or two for everyone to realize what they weren't hearing...

"Someone's been messing in our security protocols..." She said to the room. "We'll need higher access to backtrack, but whoever it was, was very good and/or very connected." K'ner looked like she would continue but she held her tongue. She seemed to be communicating with her hazard team by her look and body language. The rest were moving seemingly of their own accord, two of them escorting the body to sickbay.

"Orders?" K'ner had passed on the lockdown orders the Captain had given but now things were about to get complicated...
