Trace looked in the mirror, touching the bridge of his nose and marveling at the difference it made to his looks. He turned his head a little and admired the Bajoran jewelry running from his ear around to his nose, then promptly took it out.
“What are you doing?” Durzo asked. “That’s traditional Bajoran decoration. It will help you look the part.”
Trace shook his head. “Sorry, not wearing it. I don’t need it to be jerked out mid fight.” He pulled the long cloak around himself and nodded. It covered up the phaser he was wearing pretty well, but wouldn’t hold up if anyone took a closer look.
Although he was surprised to be included in the away mission, he was pleased that he wouldn’t be relegated to guarding Engineering.
“Thank you Doctor.” He said, and headed to the airlock with the rest of the team.

The Commander had chosen a good time for their heist, the promenade at this our being all but empty. They made their way to Engineering without anyone challenging them, for which Trace was relieved. He could scrap with the best of them but the best fight was one you didn’t have to have.
Things changed once they reached Engineering though. Kronnelti started the festivities with a stun to the closest Engineer while Korcus and he took down two more. By then, the remaining four men were alerted and started reaching for phasers under their consoles.
Trace lost track of Korcus and Kronnelti (he decided to call the Double K in his head from here on out) as one of the mirror Engineers rushed him and slammed the butt of a phase pistol into the bridge of his nose. Blood spurted everywhere as he barely dodged a follow up kick to the groin.
Trace backed up a couple of steps and went into a fighting stance, he ducked a wide swing and blocked a follow up blow. The dude could dance, that was for sure, but Walker used his superior height and weight to overpower the man. He slammed a fist satisfyingly into his jaw, sending him to the deck with a grunt.
By the time he could check on the others, Double K and the Commander had secured the device and were ready to beam back.
Before long he was sitting on a bio bed with Dr. Durzo running a dermal regenerator over his nose. “Jesus, what happened?” She asked.
Trace chuckled. “Let’s just say I’m glad I didn’t wear that jewelry.”
