A New Development

Ensign Selina Shaw had been working hard ever since the ship arrived in the 21st century, after travelling through the anomaly. She had been analysing as much of the sensor data as she could during the ship’s journey through the anomaly, and comparing it to the data recorded before entry and after being spat out. Her main goal was finding a way home for her and the crew of the Chuck Norris.

“Damn E.A. spikes blocking the alignment of the sensors.” She cursed as she worked alone in the cramped science lab. The Chuck Norris was her first posting after successfully graduating from the academy two months ago, and she was yet to work in a science lab that she would label ‘adequately sized’. “C’mon,” she pleaded as she reviewed the sensor data, “show me something.”


{New York City, Battery Park}

Lieutenant Commander Ezah, Lieutenant Kronnelti, Ensign K’ner, and Ensign Keegan all congregated at Battery Park. By this point the sun had started to come up and the bright orange light of the star made everything glow in early morning sunshine.

The Captain approached the away team, “I’ve managed to charter a boat over to the Statue of Liberty.” He announced, “We leave in twenty minutes.” He looked at Kronnelti, “Lieutenant, are those Romulan signals still coming from the statue?”

Kronnelti nodded in the affirmative.

“Right, I guess we’d better…” suddenly Paxton’s own tricorder started beeping unexpectedly. He grabbed the small device and opened it up. “… Trill? I’m picking up Trill life-signs now.”

“Trill?” Ezah echoed.

Paxton slapped his combadge, fully knowing that the only Trill member of the crew at the moment was Mira Rodale, “Beckett to Rodale.”

Silence.

“Captain Beckett to Lieutenant Commander Rodale.” still silence. He was starting to get exasperated at this new development. “Beckett to Dersch.”

=/\= Yes sir =/\=

“Is Lieutenant Commander Rodale onboard the Chuck Norris?”

There was a moment of silence =/\= No sir, she isn’t =/\=

“Can you scan the planet and find out whether she is down here or not?”

Another moment of silence, until Dersch answered =/\= Central Park =/\=

“Damn.” Paxton whispered under his breath. Too far to reach her before their ride to the Statue of Liberty set off. “Fine. Can you and Lieutenant Commander Hadenbeer please beam down to Central Park to make sure she is okay? Bring Ensign Shaw with you. Her science expertise may come in use.”

=/\= Of course, sir. We’ll set off now. Dersch out =/\=

Paxton turned to the officers that were stood near him, “Let’s get on that boat and see what is going on over there. Be prepared for anything…”


:OFF:

Crew location check:

Beckett, Ezah, Kronnelti, K’ner and Keegan are now on their way over to Liberty Island. Romulan signals are coming from Lady Liberty herself, along with the answers to whatever this anomaly is and why the Chuck Norris was pulled into this time.

Dersch, Hadenbeer, and Shaw are making their way down to the surface to rescue Rodale.

Let’s keep the story going! I want to get this one wrapped up by the end of the month so that we can start a fresh mission in August! :)
