Returning to Starbase 10

Mission: Not Where I Belong
Location: U.S.S. Chuck Norris
Timeline: Current

OFF: Just trying to get us to our destination.

ON: (U.S.S. Chuck Norris - Bridge)

On the main view screen, the stars no longer were streaks as the Chuck Norris dropped out of warp and began it's approach to Starbase 10. The base itself, was just a small sight to be seen in the distance, but was always a busy major hub.

"Beginning our approach to Starbase 10, we are 7 minutes out."G'odoss informed the bridge, "We have been cleared for docking.

"Excellent Lieutenant." Winters turned in his chair slightly, legs cross and addressed Commander Pibb, "Please inform the crew to make ready. I see we have some people transferring out, and some new arrivals. I want to make sure this stop is a short as possible."

"Aye sir." Pibb nodded as his hands flew across his panel as a shipwide message was sent.

"G'ginloss, please take us in, half impulse." Winters commanded.

"Sir, I have an incoming transmission coming in for you." Pibb informed the Captain.

"I'll take it in my ready room. G'odoss, you have the conn."

"Aye sir." The klingon knew he was in command for the short and final leg of the journey. He was still going to take the Chuck Norris into space dock, and as such, did not leave his seat.

(Captain's Ready Room)

The doors opened and Aurther made his way to his seat. He gingerly allowed himself to rest in the chair. Taking a moment, and tugging down on his uniform he opened the comm line. He was greeted with the familiar sight of Admiral Yoshimeyer.

"Captain Winters"

"Admiral. Very unusual for you to give me a call before we dock."

"Well, this is a courtesy that I want to extended, given our time together. But you should know there is a review board."

"For the Chuck Norris? I know we went through that test phase and what with the Hazard Team..."

Yoshimeyer interrupted Winters, "No, it's not about the ship. It's about you, and your command."

Aurther almost chocked on his own breath, "What?"

"Something about how since you've taken command, the Norris has been involved in a long string of engagements. I think what happened with Axelrod was the last string."

Aurther felt a little lose for words. He has been only back in the Chuck Norris for over a year, and in command for less than that. Reviews didn't normally come up for a few years into one's command, unless there was an issue with the style of command, or outcomes of assignments. "Is there anything I can do to prepare for this?"

"Just review your logs, and get ready to answer some hard questions. I hope you're used to being under pressure."

"I wouldn't be in this seat if I wasn't." The two men laughed.

"I'll see you when you dock." The Admiral smiled and closed the channel.
Winters stood up and slowly walked over to the small window in his Ready Room. Starbase 10 was now getting larger and closer. A normal feeling of relief when being this close was now replaced with slight anxiety. Auther had not had to face too much accountability since taking command, and it might finally be time to face the music.
