Lieutenant Tessa Riley returned to the bridge after her meeting with the mysterious man known as Stellan Everson. She didn’t blame the senior staff for not wanting to investigate his appearance right away, they were busy enough as it was at the moment. But its not everyday a random man appears in the cargo-bay, covered in purple goo, that’s from the same city as you.
She started to look over the internal sensor records from the approximate time that Stellan appeared in the cargo-bay. The video footage clearly shows a blinding purple flash coming from approximately 15 feet in the air. From the flash, Stellan fell hard onto the deck, and then the flash disappeared.
“Computer,” she moved herself across to the science console, “Identify the purple flash recorded by the internal sensors at approximately 14:36 in the cargo-bay.”
The computer worked for a moment, before chirping loudly, “Origin unknown. High levels of antimatter and neutrino emissions detected.”
“Okay, but what’s your best guess at what this thing was?” Tessa’s shoulders dropped. She bet herself that the computer wouldn’t have an answer.
To her surprise, it did: “The anomaly closely resembles an intermittent interspatial flexure.”
Tessa leaned back in her chair. “Computer, is it possible that this intermittent interspatial flexure could transport someone from one section of space and time to another? Hypothetically speaking.”
“Affirmative.” Came the cold response. “Hypothetically.”
Tessa nodded in satisfaction. It now looked highly likely that Stellan was telling the truth and his being from Uppsala was just an incalculable coincidence. At least he wasn’t a member of species 8472 or something ridiculous like that. For now, it looked like the mystery of the naked purple goo man had been solved.
