Balen and Tessa were at the back table examining the evidence that had been collected from the returning shuttles that escaped. Moments later Ryoke walked in to see the two working at the back console.

"Have you come across any new information Balen?" As the Kelpien began to look over the display.

Pibb was happy to have a fresh pair of eyes looking over his work. He had hoped that Tessa or Mark could see something he was missing.

"Well perhaps we need to find the motive. Clearly, they have the means to take down a Federation Starship. But, this hardly meets the M.O. of your average Space Pirates. Typically, the Syndicate holds the ship, crew and cargo for random. Never outright killing anyone off as its bad for business. So far, they don’t seem to take anything. They just destroy the target, for the lack of a better word. The Romulans have disavowed but, this just seems like a political statement over any type of piracy."

As Pibb continued to scrolled through more sensor logs.

"Perhaps, a grab for power or control of the shipping lanes?"
"Perhaps," as Balen looked to his counterpart.

"Whatever, it is we'll find it." As Tessa continued.
