Mission: Trial by Fire
Location: U.S.S. Chuck Norris, Planet
Timeline: Current

OFF: Alright, this took a little longer than expected, but life gets busy am I right? This is the conclusion to the mission plot. However as always, if there was more things you wanted to add, you can always do it at a later point.

ON: (Hazard Team Shuttle, Sequoia)

The doors to the shuttle opened up, allowing one half of the Hazard team to roll out, weapons drawn and clearing the landing zone. Beerus was on point, the only member of the team who had prior experience. He looked back at Lt. Pibb, who had his tricorder out, scanning the area. Pibb was able to detect multiple Romulan life signs, but they were a good distance away, and also looked to be in groups. He wondered if they were also searching for this VIP when he saw a different life sign. It wasn't human, but it did come with a Starfleet signal. Pibb looked back at Beerus and motioned with his hand towards the abandoned buildings. As the team made their away from the shuttle, the doors to it closed and the power shut down. The pilots realized that if they tried to leave the area they might be spotted, and chose to try and lay low.
As the Hazard team made it's way to the buildings and then through them, Pibb kept looking up at the sky. The other Shuttle had not been seen since they landed. He had seen the shuttle on sensors when they dropped first, but wondered now, did they suffer damage, get spotted, did they crash? He wanted to try and open a Comm channel to Lt. Collier or anyone from the other Hazard team, but knew it might be tracked, and chose to stay in the dark for now, but remain hopeful that maybe they missed their target.
It was hard to tell if it was sheer luck, or maybe good planning, but after a few short minutes of their stealth movements making their way through all of the abandoned buildings, they arrived at the small house like structure. There they took position surrounding the building, and Pibb checked his tricorder again. It would appear that now there were two other life signs with their intended target. His eyes opened and narrowed as he processed the information. It only took a moment for Beerus to see the look on his face to know that action was needed immediately. Before he even knew it, Beerus was already knocking in the first door he could see and made his way into the building. The time for stealth was over, "Wait for me", Pibb called out as he followed the man. As they made their way into the building, Pibb signaled to the rest of the team that they were clear to fire at will. Within seconds the sound of weapons fire could be heard in the background as the two Starfleet officers made their way trying to find whoever it was. Coming into one room, their reaction was quicker as they stunned two Romulans who never eve had a chance to draw their weapons. With a sparkle in his eye, Beerus had a feeling that the adjacent room was where they needed to be. Like a linebacker he charged and crashed through the door, knocking the door on top of one of the Romulans, and causing Beerus to stumble and fall to the ground. His rifle fell from his hand and he quickly reached for his phaser, drawing it and getting of a shot that sent another Romulan flying through the air to the ground. The same was given back as a third Romulan who already had his disruptor drawn fired and hit Beerus, sending his sliding back on the floor and crashing into the wall. Pibb's adrenaline was rushing, he knew the sound of enemy weapons, and that disrupter was set to kill. His sight squarely trained he fired a phaser blast into the last Romulans chest, causing him to fly back and crash through a window, falling to the ground in the crumpled heap.
Once that action had settled down, Lt. Pibb could hear his own heart pounding, and quickly made his way to the Starfleet Officer, on their knees with a black sack over their head. He took it off, hoping to recognize who it was. Her red hair was the first thing he focused on, but immediately didn't know who this women was, although she seemed familiar.

"Lt. Pibb, Hazard Team, U.S.S. Chuck Norris." he said helping her up.

"Commodore Francisca Devux, Starfleet Operations, and well... the one who put this whole mess together.", the two turned and looked over as they heard a groan. Chief Ryoko and the hazard team medic were pulling up Beerus from the ground. The front of his uniform was burned away, some superficial wounds could be seen on his chest, but by some miracle the man had survived death blow he had received.

"I knew I recognized you, you were on the ship a week ago, you stopped in for a drink, but didn't recognize me." Beerus muttered out as he finally got to his feet. The two officers slung his arms over their shoulders in preparation to leave.

"Beerus? I heard you retired from the core as was acting in more a civilian role. But I guess I should have known better when someone introduced themselves as the hazard team." she replied back walking over to him and checking his wounds as well.

"Currently those tactics are what just saved you." he replied with a small grin.

"And that technology kept you alive." She slide under his arm, replacing the medic who ran a quick regenerator over his wounds.

"Okay, well the pleasantries are done, and I have a few more questions but we need to move." A disruptor blast blew through the window. "NOW!"

The Hazard team now retreated from the building, running as quickly as they could with the injured man. Forced to run and gun, phaser and disruptor fire continued to stream around the abandoned settlement. The occasional shot did manage to hit some of the hazard team, but their personal shields were able to take most of the blasts, leaving them in some pain, but still operational. As they zipped around the final turn and could see the shuttle just a few hundred feet away, the adrenaline surged through their bodies, they could hear their food steps getting louder as they focused on their destination. The team almost came to a complete halt when off in the distance a Scorpion class fighter started to make a strafing run on the team. A quick glance around the scene and it seemed like the end of the road. No place to take cover, no place to hide. The hazard team raised their weapons to fire on the incoming fighter, even though they knew their weapons would be ineffective, however it was more of moral support than anything else.
As the fighter started to fire on the team, and they ducked, the buildings seems to explode around them as debris flew through the air. Pibb looked up just in time to see phaser blasts knock the fighter down. Not enough to destroy it, but enough that it made the fighter go off course and collide with another building. The fighters engines gave out, and the ship started to spin widely out of control. It passed over head and landed into a crumple into a small ball before exploding into a huge fireball. Whatever Romulans were in pursuit were now cut off and forced to find a detour. With the Hazards team a straight shot to their shuttle, they continued to make their way. The doors opened and came down as the pilots powered the shuttle back on. They never even needed to look back at the second shuttle was now hover 20 feet above them. The doors opened and Lt. Collier and his team were providing small arms fire to any Romulan trying to make a last ditch effort to get to Commodore. Pibb could hears Colliers yells of joy, knowing that his was the most action he had seen in months, and he was going to enjoy it.
With a hiss, the door Sequoia shuttle closed, all the occupants now strapped themselves in, and as the engines began to get to full power the shuttle blasted off from the ground, kicking up dust and debris, blinding any remaining pursuers who fired wildly into the air trying to score a lucky hit on one of the Starfleet shuttles. It was no use, and within seconds the shuttles were out of weapons range, in formation and heading back towards the sky that the fell out of a short while ago.

(U.S.S. Chuck Norris - Bridge)

"Incoming warp signatures." Riley called out as her display started to light up with Warp signatures.

"Identify Lieutenant", Winters commanded, standing up from his chair, "Put them on screen."

"Romulans!" at least dozen Romulan ships exited warp and now sat a few hundred kilometers of the bow of the Chuck Norris, the small ship sat alone, outnumbered and outgunned.

"Sir?" Ensign G'odoss questioned, looking for orders.

"Keep us where we are, we can't outrun them, I'd rather try and buy our teams some time." Aurther hoped that by taking no immediate action, it would make the Romulans at last some pause.

"They're locking weapons on us!" Riley exlaimed.

"Divert all power to the forward shields, helm prepare for evasive maneuvers."

"Aye sir!" The Klingon said, his hands hover of his station.

"Sir more warp signatures!"

A small force of Klingon ships now appeared around this small planet. The odds had changed, and it was almost a fair fight.

"Friends of yours?" Winters looked at both G'ginloss and G'odoss.

"The markings, I do recognize them, they are friendly." G'ginloss assured the Captain.

"They are locking weapons on the Romulans."

"Quickly, ask the Klingon to hold their fire until our command. Riley, hail them." Lt. Riley opened up the hail.

"Attention Romulan ships, the is Captain Aurther Winters, of the Federation Starship Chuck Norris. You have violated the peace accords set out by our two governments. I suggest to you, to power down your weapons, and prepare to escorted out of Federation space." Aurther looked around slightly at his crew, and listened to the silence. "Commander, Romulan Vessel, I have issued you one warning. I will not issue you another. Stand down, power down your weapons and prepare to be escorted out of Federation space." Suddenly the view screen clicked in, and an older Romulan captain was now staring down Winters.

"You can keep repeating yourself... Captain... but even with your dog allies, you will not survive our assault. We have had this entire systems communications blocked. By the time the Federation, or anyone comes looking for you. All they will find is your cold bodies floating in space. Now, I am a generous man, if you power down your weapons, we, may show mercy on your crew with a quick and painless death." The mans face was unchanged.

"Commander, I can assure you that none of that will happen. However, I will inform you that there are no more warnings."

"Very good Commander, then we have nothing more to discuss." He nodded as the line went dead.

"Target the nearest vessel, prepare to fire all weapons."

"Yes sir." G'odoss said.

"Sir..." Riley spoke up again, with a slight happiness in her voice. Aurther looked at her and then back to the view screen. Blue lights flashed as an entire task force of Starfleet ships warped in behind the Romulans forces. Akira, Nebulas, Steamrunners, Mirandas and another Defiant class now sat, flanking the enemy forces. The Romulans were now outnumbered 2-1. Before Aurther even had a chance to re-open a channel, the Romulans powered down their weapons, cloaked, and disappeared into the darkness of space.

"Well, that was a close one." Aurther smiled.

"Sir, the hazard team shuttles are returning."

"Open the doors and let them in, I think we might have won this one."
