{The Vulcan ship Tal'Kir}
As Mira walked down the long corridor of the Vulcan ship, her nervousness increased. She would have taken Kevin's hand right now to help her through this, but he had chosen to deal with things that happened in a dream world. Dreams he didn't even remember but made him look bad. Image seemed to be everything to him, she thought sadly.
She had stood by him and ran what interference she could without lying to him, but now she had no choice then to deal with her own mind and her Symbiont. Alone.
Failure to do so would mean death.
If this Skalvunn could not help her, then it would be an emergency trip to Trill. She would have no say in her treatment. On Trill, the Symbiont came first. If it was deemed she was an unfit host, Rodale would be placed with another host. Leaving herself to die. Mira had made plans to have her child sent to Earth to live with her adopted uncle Thor in this case.
Kevin seemed to want to be absent from their lives, so this way, he wouldn't be stuck dealing with children he didn't want or her. Kolar and Ashla wouldn't have a string of aunties coming and going in their lives either. Kolar had been very concerned about that.
Of course, even if she was able to fix all of this, there was still the challenge hanging over her head. One that she had a 37% chance of winning. Not great odds. She, of course, would fight to the death. Her opponent was huge, 6'7", 350lb with a bad attitude. He came from a lower house and now has a chance to improve his status in the Klingon empire, but Mira didn't want him as a mate. Sadly, the man she wanted didn't want her. Karma? Maybe.
If she lost, and by some chance, Rodale survived, she would need a new host anyway. Mira frowned. Why was she doing all of this. There was another option she could just go with her escape plan..... Oh yea, she forgot to factor in the Orions. Hell! Yeah, this was a loss cause.
She had given Kevin her trust, heart, and soul, but it wasn't enough. Nothing she seemed to do was enough anymore!
She hadn't realized she had stopped walking and had lost her guide until that moment. Well crap.
"Things look darkest before the dawn." a deep voice said before a tall, thin Vulcan male walked slowly to her. He held his hand up in the Vulcan greeting. "I am Skalvunn. it is agreeable to meet you, Captain Mira Rodale, of the USS Chuck Norris. May I call you Mira?"
Mira nodded. "Grow old in wisdom, Doctor Skalvunn. "
It was hard to tell, but he seemed genuinely pleased she had given him the traditional Trill greeting.
"Please have a seat. I have brewed you a tea to help relax you. It is not very pleasant to the taste, but it works."
Mira knelt on the cushion picking up the cup she took her first sip. The doctor wasn't kidding about it being bad. "How much needs to be drank?" Mira asked curiously.
"Until you feel relaxed..." He continued to light candles around the room. "I was confused as to why you didn't just go home to Trill, but I will aid you the best I can." He knelt on the cushion in front of her.
holding up his hand, "May I see what we are up against."
Mira nodded, putting the cup down. She closed her eyes as she felt his fingertips connect with her face and forhead.
“Our minds are merging, Mira.
Our minds are one.
I feel what you feel.
I know what you know.”
Mira had never in her life felt this at peace. "We will travel these paths together. You are no longer in these places, but we are only looking to see what has already happened. There is nothing to fear. What has happened has already happened. You have made the choices and have traveled these paths for good or bad. That time is over."
