Odd Orders Indeed

Mission: New Captain
Location: U.S.S. Chuck Norris
Timeline: Current

OFF: Guess we will try to move things along, I am hoping we get this mission underway soon!

ON: (U.S.S. Chuck Norris, Airlock)

It was only a matter of seconds, not even a full half a minute. That was how much time he had met his Captain. It was hardly enough time to gauge someone, let alone his commanding officer. Something was odd, very odd indeed. Through all of his years in Starfleet, in as much as the peacetime it had been, he never had a meeting that abrupt. More thoughts quickly dashed through his mind, of what the mission could be. He soothed himself with the thought that if the Captain wanted to wait to meet in a few hours, it hopefully wasn't a priority 1 emergency.

Within minutes he ended up back in his quarters and at his desk. Having replicated himself a sandwich he again went through the maintenance logs of the ships. It was going to take some time, but he wanted to make sure that he familiarized himself back with the ship again, to make sure there were not too many other changes to the ship. At the same time he also looked through a PADD he had that was the roster of the crew. Normally this would be a more awkward interactions. Whenever a new XO is brought in and now promoted from within the ship there can always be a certain amount of tension. However it seems that everyone who was being assigned to the Norris this time, well it was a completely new crew.

Time passed at a rate that even Aurther did not realize, until his attention was drawn to the voice in his room.

=/\= Bridge to Commander Winters=/\=

"Winters here, go ahead bridge"

=/\= Sir, we have an incoming transmission for you from Starfleet Command =/\=

"Understood bridge, send it to my quarters."

=/\= Yes sir, on it's way now =/\=

The Comm line went silent as Aurther raised an eyebrow to this message. The Starfleet insignia flickered on, and then took over the PADD in his hand. He was confused, as the device was now bio-metrically locked. It required two fingerprints, his, and Captain vonMcCormick.

"Odd orders indeed..." he said out loud slightly.
