Mission: The Game is Afoot
Location: Bridge

=Bridge=

Wyatt sat quietly as he ran through several computer screens. He seemed to lost in the information as he had a lot on his mind. Wyatt's mind was racing...

{No, No, No why did I do this. I stole a ship and I'm now, I'm so done. All my chances of ever being a captain are out the window.} Wyatt insisted he was directly responsible. The torment he was putting himself through didn't go unnoticed as the Beatzoid at the command console could hear his soul screaming in disappointment.

At this moment Wyatt sat in front of a now empty computer screen on the bridge. He held a locket that he had hung onto since the death of his father. A death that weighed heavy on him. The locket resembled the Starfleet star. A symbol that now held great meaning for the young Ensign. To the left of the star was a clasp leading to a small compartment. There rested a faded picture of his father holding him the day he was born. The picture brought him relief and sadness at the same time. Wyatt had become a rather complicated man over the years. When Wyatt's father had died he had taken the locket off his corpse to have something to remind him of him.

"Dad I've screwed up I. I'm just not federation material," he said softly as gentle tears began to fall.

Wyatt didn't have much long to sulk though. The ship had a more pressing matter to deal with.

+Communication from Medical+

"Ensign Pibb, Collier is alive. The virus hasn't completely impacted him yet but he's not going to last much longer. We have tried everything but nothing's worked. I don't know if we save him."

Alive? Well keep trying and keep me updated. Pibb was shocked by all initial reports. The outcome was bleak.

"Yes sir," the Medical Officer replied.

Pibb returned to his duties as he occasionally looked over in Wyatt's direction. The young man was clearly torturing himself. Pibb never told anyone the details of his plan, not even Chief Ryoko. The last thing he wanted was for anyone to be tied up in the mess he created. If anyone should be held accountable, it was him and him alone. As he closed his eyes. He knew he couldn't tell Wyatt the truth about the Jail Break. The events only know to three souls. The only three present in the transporter room at the time. Pibb asked Anderson to launch the ship as per CDR. Winter's orders. As for Wyatt's involvement after that Balen was still unclear. He never asked.

"Ensign Pibb," Wyatt called.

"Yes Wyatt," Pibb replied.

"We need to go back." Wyatt protested.

"Why?" Pibb was a little taken back.

Wyatt continued, "I'm not a doctor or anywhere near a medical science officer but I know how to save collier."

"I'm not doubting your skills Wyatt but that's highly unlikely," Balen relied.

"No Pibb, see he was acting on impulse, increased adrenaline, thin blood, then appearing dead. It's a very rare virus most doctors haven't even heard of it."

Pibb raied an eye brow, "How do you know this?"

Again Wyatt continued, "Because my sister had the same thing I cant let someone else die from it when we know what the cure is. As well as what it id."

"Wyatt your sister died?" He now had Balen's full attention.

"Yes 2 months ago she developed Kerkorian Flu a deadly disease. She died because they couldn't find any penicillin in time."

"Wyatt are you suggesting collier has the same thing?" Pibb replied.

"I'm not a doctor but its 98.8% likely my sister is my base for hypothesis." Wyatt concluded.

Pibb remembered, "Penicillin it's a 21st century antibiotic. Wyatt, they stopped making it centuries ago, even if you are right. We can't exactly get Penicillin or Time travel to get some. I realize it has an ingredient that can't be synthesized by the ships replicators."

Wyatt shook his head, "I never said we needed to time travel. There is a colony about 5 light years from here that has the only remaining supply of it. It ain't cheap though 5 dilluthm Crystal's for a ounce."

"Wyatt perhaps, you need to tell the Doctor what you've told me," as Pibb thought about what Wyatt had said. It was quite a bombshell.

"Agreed," Wyatt had thought.
