Mission: The Zaj
Location: Deep Space Nine
Timeline: During 'Here We Go Again'

ON:

[Promenade, Deep Space Nine]

The Promenade aboard Deep Space Nine was bustling. People were going to their respective point a's and point b's. Starfleet Officers, Bajoran Officers, civilians and more were walking about the place, carrying out their own personal and work related duties. The circular door to the airlock slid open to reveal one Lieutenant Commander Klesh Ezah, who had just just disembarked from the Chuck Norris a few minutes ago. she stepped onto the main deck of the busy promenade and stopped to look around the place.

Before she could do anything more however, she heard a loud, yet familiar voice call out to her from behind. The voice was deep, familiar, and very Klingon.

"Klesh Ezah, Daughter of Aklow!" the voice called out loudly.

Klesh turned around to see none other than Captain Worf, one of the other few Klingons serving in Starfleet. Many knew him as the Captain of the Enterprise, the first Klingon to command a Federation Flagship which was unthinkable a hundred years ago. However her and Worf knew each other from the war since they were serving relatively close to each other since the IKS Qu’Vat was operating on the front lines at the time and thus, close to Deep Space Nine when Worf was serving there.

"Worf, Son of Mogh, House of Martok!" Klesh returned the greeting.

After their greeting both Klingons relaxed a little bit and Worf spoke again. "It has been a long time Klesh."

"It most certainly has Worf" she began. It had been a few years since the two last saw each other and thus, they had a lot to catch up on. "More importantly, how have you been Worf?"

"Keeping busy" the Son of Mogh said plainly. "What about the famed Daughter of Aklow?"

"I'm also keeping busy. I just recently transferred back to the Chuck Norris as her Strategic Operations Officer."

"Ah the Defiant class. Captain Riker calls them tough and little. but I disagree" Worf spoke.

Klesh replied, "They may be small, but they certainly aren't little and they pack a large punch. Something we may be putting to the test soon."

"Yes the Zaj. I wish I came with the Enterprise to have the presence of the Federation Flagship for that reason. However two Defiant class ships defending the station should help greatly."

"You're on leave Worf?" This wasn't something she had expected to hear but to be fair all Captain's needed a rest every once and a while.

"Yes. Some personal matters. But I am actually due to leave in the next few days on the Callisto once she arrives. I can't take leave all of the time."

"No you cannot" she chuckled. Klesh looked towards Quarks and then back at her fellow officer. "Care for a drink?"

The Klingon Starfleet Captain replied. "I'll take that opportunity any time" Worf chuckled as the two migrated towards a newly opened Human owned bar. They had taken one look at Quarks and while the chance to mess with Quark himself was there, there was too many people. Even for some Klingons.

[Spec of Earth Bar, Deep Space Nine]

Klesh and Worf found themselves sitting at the bar. They had been sitting for quite a few minutes waiting for the bartender. Suddenly, a young Human, no older than 21 or 22, appeared after coming out from behind a wall.

"Can I help you two?" he asked, somewhat nervously since there were two Klingon's right in front of him.

Worf replied, "I'd like a Prune juice. Chilled."

Klesh smiled slyly. "Prune juice?"

"It's a warrior's drink" he replied plainly.

"That it is my friend" Klesh turned to the Human. "I'd like a Raktajino. Hot."

"Coming right up" the young man said quietly before retreating to the back to fetch their drinks. Klesh and Worf chatted, catching up with various things in their lives to pass the time. However just as the bartender was bringing out the drinks, Klesh noticed a large group of people gathering throughout the promenade.

"Enjoy the drinks" the bartender said before starting a hasty retreat to the back.

However before he could get behind the wall Klesh's badge chirped and the Captain's voice sounded, "Intermeezo to the Chuck Norris. Red alert. All hands return to the ship immediately. I’m on my way."

Just after that the station's red alert klaxons began sounding off. Klesh and Worf exchanged looks before hopping off of their seats and rushing out to the promenade.

"I gotta get to the Norris" she said quickly.

"I'm going to operations" Worf returned as the two began in the opposite directions.

Klesh tapped her badge. "Ezah to Chuck Norris, one to beam up."

She waited for a few moments as the crowds were rushing around. Klesh stood in position for transport but it never came. The shields must have raised since she hadn't felt any shakes or weapons barrages yet.

"Kesh!" she cursed.

Not saying anything else, she spotted Worf entering the the lift to the command center. She ran carefully through the crows and slid into the lift with the Klingon Captain.

"I thought you were going to the Chuck Norris?"

She looked at him. "Shields have been raised. I wasn't beamed aboard. I guess I'm going to operations as well."

Worf chuckled and yelled out. "CHEGH-chew jaj-VAM jaj-KAK!"

Klesh smiled as the lift arrived at operations. "HIja'" she replied as the door slid open to review the hectic operations center.
