Mission:
Not Where I Belong
Location: Bridge
Timeline: Current
At first all we heard was static on the lines from the other ships nearly finished as the continued to decloak. They finished materializing revealing a ship not seen before this side of the lines. The static became a request for conversation. An odd thing to ask for in the midst of battle. Perhaps though these ships represented more then battle, more then the eye normally would tell.
"Gentlemen, we do not yet know what these people want, nor why they are here. No one speaks but myself or the captain. Am I understood." The ferocious side of the klingon was showing through, the battle ready, and war side of Lt Ech'am G'ginloss was barred through as hostiles were nearby. Muffles of understanding mermered through the bridge as even the captain was taken back slightly at the difference in his xo.
Captain Winters stepped up next to Ech'am, looked at him and nodded. "On screen." Was said immediately afterwards. No rebukes, no rebuttles uttered from the captains mouth in the moment. Command authority was one thing he recognized, he knew from years of experience. He also knew that in this moment, to do so, would effectively halt the respect that Ech'am G'ginloss was commanding out of the others in this moment. Later he thought, I'll have a word with him on this subject, concerning protocol when the captain was also on the bridge.
"Hoomans, what are you doing in this barren sector? Are you scavenging our property of fair market used goods? What is it you are doing in this area of ours? Answer us!
Ferengi, how he understood their scheming ways of working, taking more then they give, bartering only when they have the advantage. In this moment rule 192 would be in effect. Never cheat a klingon, unless you know you can get away with it.
"You ferengi are in no position to question what our motives are, nor where our motives come from. You do not have the authority to question the motives of a klingon. Brothers, shall we get to work? Disable their ships."
"Our apologies, we got ahead of ourselves, no need to enter battle, we'll tell you amythingyou wish to know, just let us collect the rubble from the ships destroyed and you wont have any trouble from us."
"Good, now first you will give us your names, all records of where toubhave been, and logs of anything you have made. You will transfer this information to us now. If you do so you may have at the wreckage after we have ascertained any viable information we desire. You will not get in our way, nor will you tell of our meeting to any living soul. To do so will invoke death to you, and your Latinum profits you make in this day, and all days following. Am I understood?"
"Tweek, twank, and twook are our names, we will give you such that you request and leave you be. The information is in transit now."
The klingon looks over at tactical in which he receives a nod showing that information is being recieved.
"Good. We will review this information and if we find any inconsistencies withing this information, you will pay us for causeing us trouble this day. Should you try to leave, or cloak, know that I will hunt you down and find a way to ensure you never cheat another person so long as my family lives. Take note of Ferengi rules of acquisition #192. Never cheat a klingon, unless you know you can get away with it. Know that i am not one of the few exceptions to this rule. Know it well."
In that moment the xo made a motion for the feed to be cut as he breathed calmer now that the conversation was over.
OFF:
What information did we just receive? Useful or did the ferengi try to keep anything from their records?
