Mission: Trial by Fire
Location: U.S.S. Chuck Norris
Timeline: Current

OFF: Hey! Sorry I have not been that much around for the last little bit, just work, home life and Halloween took up a good portion of my time. So, here...we...go!

ON: (U.S.S. Chuck Norris - Captain's Ready Room)

Aurther sat at his desk, again he was now filling out a report that he was going to send to Starfleet Command that he knew, they would contact him and ask him to verify that the report did not sound outlandish. He was okay with it at this point, it seemed that more often then not the reports he filed were always being called into question, but each time, the logs and other crews accounts of the incidents always seem to line up. He hoped that sooner, rather than later, the admiralty would just take his word on everything. As he finished up his report, the chime to his door went off. He took a minute to look around, and although he had not gotten enough time to put everything back in it's proper spot, he did at least clean up his office enough to have visitors.

"Come." he said, immediately the doors opened and Commodore Devux entered the room. Winters motioned to the seat across and she took it. "Commodore, a pleasure to see you again. Back from your time in our sick bay?"

"Not quite the facility I am used to, but will do in a pinch."

"Well it is good to see you again, and glad to see that you are doing well. I do apologize that this whole war game spiraled out of control."

"You know what Captain, if I may speak frankly, I think this was a better experience then we could have planned for in any scenario."

Aurther shifted in his chair slightly, "Even with the lose of life Commodore?"

"It's a tragedy Aurther, every life lost is a life felt. They will be remembered and honored in their own way, but I can say, that these lives will not have been lost in vain. If anything, the fact that your ship was able to be transformed back and forth with Starfleet facilities and then your crew on the fly. As well as able to disable and destroy two enemy ships with precision. I would say that this has gone to prove that the Defiant class has now proven her worth, thanks to you and your crew, these ships are going to be put into full production, and in that sense, the lives that were lost in this will be outweighed by those who will be saved."

"That will be some consolidation for them." Aurther said flat.

"I can sense that tone Captain, and I'm sorry for the lose of some of your crew. But we have had to say this to other Captains before. If you can't handle that possibility that you will lose crew, or you yourself maybe the cause, you need to reconsider if you have what it takes to sit in that seat."

"I would assume that given how our last mission ended I have proven that already."

"Quite..." The Admiral smiled.

"I do feel safer knowing that we have a small task force surrounding us on our 3 day trip back to Starbase 10. Probably has something to do with the two Commodores we have on board. Are you sure you wouldn't want to take another ship?" Winters questioned.

"No sir, not after everything your crew has done for us. It would be a honor to travel back with them. I still have a few words for Beerus."

Aurther laughed, "I bet."

"Also Captain, even with Beerus, if you wanted to keep this Hazard Team going, I think they have again proven their worth. On a ship so small it's hard to justify a full platoon of marines, but they can work."

"Thank you, I think I will." The Commodore nodded and left the room, as she did Aurther took another sip of his hot chocolate and leaned back in his chair, finally able to relax.
