Mission: The Game is Afoot
Location: Starbase 10
Timeline: Current

ON: (Starbase 10, Deck 42)



"Commander, do you have a moment?" Lieutenant G'ginloss asked.



"I have urgent news to speak to you about in private."

"Of course Lieutenant, just over here." Aurther tried to act as casual as he could and helped G'ginloss into a room, locking the door. "Well go ahead."

"I have discovered evidence that someone within the command structure here is not who he or she says they are. I have managed to uncover snipits of information from the erased logs of the Ferengi ships. Through this I have discovered that there is a spy on this base. Knowledge of how to cover their tracks is insurmountable though I managed to find a cover code and the basis of the virus that allowed me to discover this information. An authorization code of alpha, beta, 3729 omega Yosh was given as part of the erasure of all files within the Ferengi ships. I was able to trace a partial message sent from the Ferengi ship before those happened".

"I would like to say I am surprised by your findings, but I have started to have my suspicions on the Admiral. There was something that was not sitting right with me. Just the way he acted, and didn't follow up once we had the Ferengi ships boarded and found the carnage. This fully doesn't actually prove anything more than our suspicions that something is going on, what's your next plan?"

"My next goal is to ensure beyond a shadow of a chance that the Ferengi in critical condition survives. If I can ensure this then we will have true proof of who is behind this. I have a thought that the admiral is behind this, but I don't have enough to prove it for sure."

"Exactly my point. I think we are both getting different levels of interest about Admiral Yoshimeyer from two different routes, and where they are both heading is a world of trouble, not for only us, but I think the station as well. I can't fully confirm it, but I did hear some rumors that one of the reasons the Captain was arrested was under suspicion of being a member of Species 8472. Now I only bring this up because from the limited scans I was able to run on some of the deceased Ferengi, there might have been traces of their DNA in some of the wounds. I don't know what this is all means yet, but I think I may go and stick my nose in a few other places." Aurther adjusted himself and took a moment to think and process all the new information that was rattling around in his head. "You are right, we need to make sure that Ferengi is protected. I could ask Commander Hudson for a security detail... if he can even be trusted."

"No Sir, it must be me who protects this Ferengi. This Ferengi helped me out of a tight spot a few years back, before I was assigned to the Chuck Norris. A few Nausicaan picked a fight with me due to a grudge against Klingons. There were 5 of them, and while I was doing well, one of them was about to cheat in my fight with them. He came to assist me and is versed in the way of battle. He is also due to this my 'Iw loDnI'. Or to say my blood brother through this fight. I owe it to him to give him the best chance of survival."

"That is odd. I would have never picked a Ferengi to be the kind of person to jump into a fight like that. Given the current situation, and the level of trust around here. I would suggest that are probably the best person to be guarding him right now. However I still need you to continue with our investigation. I will send you any data I come across so you can review it."

"Yes, as I guard him i will continue my investigations, partly in help with Tobith, the Ferengi. He has the warriors heart. There is also one other thing. Through our fights, and recoveries, we had devised a way to speak to each other, even while hurt. This is only a way to give pieces of information during light areas of consciousness, whispers in the wind, so to say. For now I suggest we trust only those we are sure are who they say they are. Blood may be a sign of truth."

"That is a strong bond, and if you can get any more information out of him, that would be helpful. For now, I will convince Commander Hudson dispatch his security forces throughout the Starbase to give you more privacy in sickbay. Remember to keep yourself armed, as I don't know who's hands you can put your life in." Aurther unlocked the door and started to head out before stopping. "Lieutenant, I know the adage is, Today is a good day to die, but you are ordered not to fulfill that adage."

"Understood Sir, though today may be a good day to kill" He smiles in the only way a klingon can as he looks forward to a potential fight. He then heads towards the door to get to sickbay on the double. As he passes the commander he reads his concern about what he had just said about killing. "OK, maybe not kill, but I'll make them wish I had." With that he breaks out in a hasty walk as there was not time to spare.
