So, you want to be an XO?

Hello and greetings to all eh?

I have been receiving a lot of questions and intentions about the current open Executive Officer position that has remained opened since I took command. I thought I would take the time to address this out more in a broad sense, then one on one so that everyone can be aware of what I am thinking and expecting.

The title of XO in a sim like this is more than just a title, in my eyes at least. I am looking for someone who in essence, is almost interchangeable with me. I mean that in the sense, that if there was a reason, I was on a LOA for a few weeks, or a month, this person would be able to step into the same role I take on as the CO. That means being able to lead the ship, and the crew down a story and path, trying to keep things interesting, but more importantly, moving along. When things become stagnate, that's when a sim start to move in the wrong direction, which is not moving at all.
However this person also, acts the same way, even when I'm here, posting both mission logs, as well as personal logs. Moving the story along, adding interesting elements and taking the lead. One does not always need to ask for permission to do something, sometimes it's a little more fun when it just happens and you have to react to it.
On the character side, the XO position, would be the primary position, however your character would still have a secondary position they would do. (I.e. Science Officer, Ops Officer, Chief Position, ect.)

So, as it was said in a post in IDF a few months ago, I know those who have express interest, but I need to see it for myself. What does this mean from you?
- Keep your posting level at a good amount, this included mission posts, and logs. Ideally, it would be nice to be in the double digits every month, because this would also put you in line with most posts awards, which I have seen the other ships, if you can pull off somewhere between 15-20, you have it.
- Keep the posts interesting and relevant. Help the story, help other crew, let your imagination run wild and have fun. This will go along way in showing leadership. The role to an CO position, which I know some of you have expressed as well, will start with an XO position.
- If anyone needs help, be someone who can help them out with questions, or help with the story or characters.
- Just be active
